Hey guys! We’re reaching a very critical stage in H4’s development where radical change in the gameplay is now very possible! We’ve all got a glimpse of the MLG gameplay. (If you haven’t, go watch it now) The game looks just like regular Halo at it’s heart and i’m impressed. In my opinion, i’d rather have this than Halo 2.75…
While watching the MLG gameplay, I noticed the usage of grenades. They’re the same old, spammable grenades we all hate! This is not good, as this shows that 343 didn’t bother to fix the annoying grenade problem in HR & H2.5
You guys KNOW what i’m talking about. You’ve played a game on reflection! Everyone runs to the sniper spawn and tries to control it, and 9 times out of 10, they die from a wave of grenades! It’s insane how easily a newbie can get a kill from just throwing a grenade.
I know what some of you might be thinking, “Omg Prado, what do you WANT grenades to do? Poof?”
I know, grenades explode. And it hurts. Alot. But, you’d think 343 would notice how Bungie just hands them 2 and let’s them throw it whenever they want! (I shot the guy 5 times, but he throws a grenade just before my 5th shot and he gets me, fair?)
There are tons of solutions to the grenade spamming problem. I’m simply trying to bring this up to everyone’s attention. Now, of course, I have my own solution. I have this idea of the perfect frag grenade. You guys can debate over my idea or offer your own solutions!
The Perfect Frag
-If a frag hits a fully shielded spartan, the grenade should NEVER take out shields, only make it so his chances of winning a gun fight are severly lowered.
-Everyone should only be allowed to carry only 1 grenade.
^^ This, along with the grenade indicator, would make everyone make everyone have to think out their grenade tosses)
-Grenades shouldn’t explode when they’re near someone, they should be timed.
What are your ideas to change the use of Grenades in H4? Should 343 even bother?
