Finished playing the Campaign (in Legendary, after 5 days of blood, sweat and tears… not to brag, of course ^^), and I’ve gotta say… I have mixed feelings. Let’s put aside the fact that a couple of missions felt like fillers, or that I expected more cinematics where Isabel actually told the stories that the crew of the SoF needed to hear to be up-to-date on galaxy-wide events, or even that the “Halo solution” seemed a little bit over-the-top IMHO.
What really bugs me is that Atriox didn’t get a chance to shine as much as he should’ve.
Like, come on, the guy is a mutha-friggin’ genius who pretty much defied and beat the Covenant. He’s a living, breathing legend who also took down three Spartan-II’s without breaking sweat! Then all of a sudden he’s on his back foot and licking his wounds at the–rather abrupt–end of the campaign?! Okay, I get it, Cutter is also a brilliant tactician and whatnot, but seriously?!?!
The SoF cannot possibly win every battle against Atriox and the remaining Banished, even from a logical point of view. Surely the Banished can score a few victories of their own, right? So, please 343i, although I’m all but certain that this post will get lost amid the flood (no pun intended) of forum posts that show up daily, if you do read this, PLEASE MAKE THE UPCOMING CAMPAIGN DLC ALL ABOUT ATRIOX! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, give this wonderful character a chance to shine! Don’t let him become “Tartarus the Second”, he deserves much more!
Also, it would be fun to have a Banished-focused campaign just for the sake of it. =D
The campaign DLC better be a bunch of DLCs that will expand the campaign than a last day patch to fix a uncompleted campaign
this is what happens when you create an unbeatable enemy for the sake of the drama (mass effect did this too)…when you have the hero beat them people are like “but they were supposed to be unbeatable…how did we win?”
expect the future installments to curb the statements of his prowess, Isabel likely learned all this from the banished forces who, again likely, exalt their leader in such a way.
Also, people do not like losing…or feel like they are forced to lose
also, we will likely never get an “enemy” campaign. In no halo game were we ever put in a situation in which we fight and kill humans during the campaign

Only that the Phoenix Logs confirm pretty much everything that she said, told from another source (ONI, because why not?). And yes, we’ve never had a campaign where we fight humans as the Covenant, but we did have the Arbiter campaign in Halo 2. So, maybe could we at least get a Banished vs Covenant campaign?

still…ONI learned the same way, likely from hearsay and investigation that was never first hand
also, yes. That could work…but Insincerely doubt it
I do agree that Atriox and The Banished were way too overhyped. They defied against the covenant at the height of their power. But one ship manages to defeat them on literally every single battle. WTF! That doesn’t even make any logical sense! I hope halo 6 or halo wars 3 or whatever game that will continue the story will make The Banished more of a threat.
