As is stated, the BR is the replacement for the DMR within the ranks of the UNSC.
However, it soon becomes apparent that they have given their infantry weaker weaponry. From what is seen in the recent footage from Infinity Multiplayer (directly linked into Campaign and Canon), it is evident that the BR is just less effective than the DMR!
The killtime on the BR is 20% slower on a Spartan IV, I can only assume this logic works the for a Promethian Knight!
Clearly they both fire similar style projectiles, but the BR doesn’t fire higher callibur rounds.
Now, as is already apparent, the DMR has a better effective range, so most likely higher velocity rounds than the BR. Therefore, the same logic applies, meaning that the BR is again worse off.
Whoever is at the forefront of the UNSC is a moron and I can only assume that they are intent on reducing population numbers within their armed forces.
if they have survived this long against an advanced alien race, that wield Plasma-based weaponry, and repulsorlift Vehicles, while they still use Bullet weapons and other Solid projectile weapons, along with wheeled land vehicles, i think they know what they are doing
(yes, i know that the elites joined us, but it’s still impressive in a Scientific/Realistic Standpoint)

And never will.
In canon, Spartans can run way faster for way longer than what sprint gives them, are far stronger and smarter with other Spartans with them, and kill quite often in CQC with hands, feet, and knives.
If the games can come close to replicating a Spartan in the books, I’ll probably -Yoink- myself to death.

Perhaps this post I made had, what I would refer to as: apparent and underlying ulterior motives. (Admittedly there are other similar posts which highlight this specific qualm of mine.)
Hmmm… not only does the gameplay not reflect canon but I think the actual designs themselves don’t reflect canon either. There is no way on earth that a military branch would approve a weapon that has a big glowing ammo counter on it, just no way whatsoever.
It’s like the Warthog… it’s a cool vehicle and part of Halo but as an actual military vehicle it is a joke. It has little to no armor and rolls almost as much as it explodes. Again this just means gameplay does not reflect canon, and I personally don’t take the designs seriously either.
