Dear 343industries,
in case you were planning to port Halo 3 to PC, let me give you advice to make it better.
In my opinion, Halo 3 pc should:
-include all DLCs and multiplayer maps
-include Halo 3 ODST expansion disk
-include a map editor (like Forge but with more features)
-be graphically improved (HD textures, Antialiasing,…)
-include online and LAN co-op
-include achievements
I’m not a PC gamer, but I would love to see the game released for those who are. But from your list, I don’t tihnk they should include assassinations. As cool as they are in Reach ,they weren’t in 3, and thus shouldn’t be in a port.
I agree with you, bstnsx704. I don’t like the choice of inserting assassinations in HCE Anniversary either.
Everything regarding Halo Reach, must stay in Halo Reach.
I say completely forget the old Custom Edition system and give us full mod support like most PC games. Last time we just asked for an Editing Kit and in game downloads for custom maps we got screwed over with Halo 2 Vista. I give a personal challenge to 343 Industries/Microsoft to bring a new Halo or one of the previous Halos we don’t have to the PC in a manner that seems just as much as a PC game as Counter-Strike/Team Fortress 2/The Elder Scrolls. If they do this then Halo PC players will most likely trust them again. It will at least make up for everything that has happened to us in the past.}
We need full mod support. That means when we make a mod other people can download it in game with no problems. They also won’t have to download the entire map just for a simple mod.
An actual console with a variety of commands. That means things like visual options with the console (Like field of view options, maxing FPS, etc.).
A tool set that will let us do pretty much anything we want with the engine for mods that we just couldn’t pull off in Halo PC/Custom Edition/Vista.
I know this is a given, but with how some developers have been, it has to be said. Dedicated Servers. PC gamers couldn’t care less about Matchmaking. All we ever want is Dedicated Servers and that’s all we’ll be fine with.
Remember from the past. If you give PC gamers a bad quality game under the hood, we’ll be able to tell. We won’t just accept it, either.
I highly doubt they will ever release anything for us PC players. Look at all the releases for XBox and now the aniversary edition and we are still stuck with Halo 2!!!
I’m sorry but it will be a cold day in hell before this happens.
Think about it,
-the game is 5 years old.
-Halo reach is out
-Halo Anniversary is out
-Halo 4 is out next year
-They need all the man power they can on working on Halo 4
-It would not sell nearly as well as it would need to to be worth their time
-People would expect support for the game and again, they need all hands on deck for new titles
-They are undoubtedly waiting for Halo 3 to die out, so they can focus server support ($) on things that will still make them money
-Making it for PC would require 3 more years (at least) of the game to have server support (MS doesn’t want to do this for a small group of people)
-sorry, but I will run around naked at a football game broadcast on public television if this were to happen. (in other words, it won’t)
I hate to be the negative nancy, but there is no point in getting your hope up over something that won’t happen. Don’t even say there is a chance, because even if there is, it is probably a billion to one and that isn’t an exaggeration.
halo 3 =/= PC
its kinda to late I mean if they were going to do it, it should have been done after odst but then reach would soon come out. its very very unlikley to happen so dont keep your hopes high because in the end all you will see is disapiontment

Nothing but rumours, Windows 8 is still in its Developer Preview, not even close to public release, no announced released date either.
If it was to play Xbox games, it would be the next-gen console, not the 360.
343i keeps bragging about being ex-pc gamers. They should be able to understand the frustration we have. Halo 3 is a great game but you are right. Its dying out on the 360. Action Sack is completely dead. There are about 550 people on Team Slayer and Social Slayer and the other game modes very from 0 to 60 online. I love this game. PC gamers deserve the right to finish the fight if you are going to give them the previous 2. I want to enjoy this game all over again with added bonus like the ones mentioned here. I understand they are working on Halo 4 but Im sure they have some people available for other projects. I dont need a release date, all I want is conformation that it is being developed…or at least a definite no so I can lose all hope in playing one of my favorite titles on PC.
yes but if they wanted to i belive it would make a profit as proof by this fourm, if this many people want it that can talk imagine how many that cant or wont talk want it, and they can get another company to do it like with halo 2 vista , but get a better company. i dont know if anyone actually in these exact words said this but we need high quality mapping unlike halo 2 vista
I used to game extensively on an Xbox 360, but after switching to PC Gaming I have barely used it. I just went on it for the first time in months and I have fallen in love with Halo 3 again. What I am craving right now is to be able to play that game on my PC.
I’m just wondering how many other people want Halo 3 on PC and if there is ever a chance that it might happen.
