Ok so this has been on my mind for a while now and I haven’t seen it discussed here before. Does anyone think that it’s a bit unfair to newer players to include armor unlocks in the req packs? I mean it’s not a problem for me but I just think it’s odd that the more experienced players get 6000 cr back for every gold pack after rounding out their armory. This effectively sets the price at 4000cr when others are paying 10000cr. This means less opportunity to build your weapons and vehicles and fewer chances at the really great weapons.
Wouldn’t it be a little better balanced for newbs if the armor was a separate purchase from the consumables? I really doubt it would hurt the veteran players any. And well don’t we want to build up the numbers on this game. I mean I know they don’t share the number but with all the playlist cuts and still not getting games on occasion due to low population, I gotta think those are rookie numbers.
Thoughts and emotions?
I think that isn’t a bad idea but then everyone can complete the armory at a good rate. Completing your armory shows that you grinded out req points and game modes so I think that it would cause some uproar to players that played since Halo 5 came out
I think the req packs in general are bad for the community, but as far as players who have everything getting a refund, it’s basically like a reward for sticking with the game for so long. Everyone who gets a refund now had to grind their way to that point, so it’s not unfair that they get rewarded for their commitment
Second what Golden Ranger said above. The REQ system is not rewarding and overall a bad system, but everyone who has unlocked everything got to that stage by putting in the necessary time. Just because a player is new doesn’t entitle them to automatically unlock everything. That would be a slap in the face to other players and would remove any illusion of an unlock system. Work your way to those unlocks like everyone else. There are multiple good strategies to do so.
I don’t agree based on the sheer amount of play time logged to earn all those unlocks and the subsequent req point refunds.
When you compare the unlock everything grind to the 152 grind, unlocking everything is not bad. It really doesn’t take long to get into the low 100s where everything should be unlocked.
I get your point about keeping population, but I have yet to encounter an issue finding a match unless its 7 am and I’m searching breakout or something.

So maybe unfair was a poor word choice more like unbalanced (though I have noticed posts with the words unfair do better than writing unbalanced might). I mean don’t get me wrong I love my 6000 back every time; but I wouldn’t be offended cause here is the deal some people would still get to complete their armory that got a super late start on the game and those that don’t care about armor would get the same weapon opportunities that I do. I mean if I want to wreck I have enough legendary reqs stored away that even if I get teamed up on I can immediately come back with another idk say Tartarus’ gavel. Like 20+ times. I played a game the other night where I just kept spawning in the needle carbine to mess with people and try to get people targeting me. I have like 75 left the number feels meaningless ( and I took like a year off so those that never stopped could have crazy req stores). I didn’t even see my first gavel until a good way in to my armory completion. It just feels a bit too pay to play over skilled play.
If you separate it out and reduce the price to account for the 6000cr reward we are getting we still get our reward and the added bonus of some balance in game (hopefully). I just feel like the main argument against is well if others have it I don’t want it anymore. And that is just silly I mean if I get what I want I’m happy, p-e-r-i-o-d. And I’m happy if others meet their goals too. It’s like the whole “I won’t wear Achilles cause too many people have it” thing I hear so often. Why let your joy be determined by others? Wear Achilles cause it’s a dope armor set.
Ok I’m now realizing I’m standing on a soap box which is weird cause where does one even aquire a soap box these days? So I’ll just be stepping down for now.
My reward fro stocking with it is the same as it has been since CE I get to keep p0wning newbs. Sorry again for the rant. Thanks Golden Ranger
The cost of the phone with is still 10000 for all up front… The two 3000 point cards are a nice reward for those of us who completed the grind for points. While I could agree it would be nice to have the req packs more specific as what unlocks you may receive. Have say a cosmetic pack, vehicle pack, weapon pack … Something like that. The req system could have been good but they just implemented it so badly. Seems like they took the cheaper and easier way out for it. Just cram everything into a few packs and leave hardly anything to be truly earned.
So what changes would LethalQ make next go round? Get rid of reqs altogether? And just back to in map heavy weapon pads? Or massive overhaul?
I agree for sure there was a lot of things that could have been done differently but yeah know hindsight and such…
Also I think you got autocorrected that our I’m too dense to understand your bit about the phone

While yeah I would vote for getting rid of reqs all together. But if they do keep them I would like to see the packs separated by what they main contain better… Like the vehicle packs, get a vehicle pack and it will contain vehicles.
But if I were in charge there would be no reqs. Warzone would have been an improved better version of the best game type in BTB ever … Legendary Dominion (no loadouts)… Similar maps but you capture and hold based that get supplied with weapons and vehicles… The twist would be enemy AI are in the battle as well. There wouldn’t be dumb bullet sponge bosses… But smart AIs who not only attack any team but they will attack and even capture bases so you can’t simply ignore them if you choose like in warzone… Oh what could have been…
Leave DLC stuff to cosmetic stuff, weapon skins, armors, vehicle skins… Just be sure to leave some cosmetics as earnable in game.

Here is my question why are we proud of our grinding ( in game not that mess I see y’all doing at the club) ? It only means you have x hours to devote. I mean I’m casually at 147 I hope to make it to 150 but if not NBD where does grinding get fun where is the satisfaction for those people? And why get upset if the change was to lower the price to 4000 and get rid of the 2 refunds of 3000 rp it would change nothing for them and help the new guys they are likely already crushing. Can’t the community acknowledge that the game is aging and the player base dwindling? Is the ability to grind the same way of greater importance than attempts to bolster numbers?

Really? I get it less now than I used to (R.I.P. grifball) but I would say it happens once a week. And no those 2 grinds are not exactly comparable but the new blood isn’t looking to stock around long enough for even The smaller at this point. It feels like it’s just the real diehards left and the rare stray visitor. What’s your fix for the pop problem?

More featured playlists and frequent double XP weekends. Keep the current population interested in SR152. Don’t worry so much about attracting brand new players because that will be an uphill battle at this stage.
The targetmaster commendations were great as well. For those that cared, 600 more wins was a decent time investment.
No, I like my 6K refund. I play FF so I burn through certain vehicles a lot and the refund helps keep my supply intact. Is it unbalanced for new players? Yes, but only for a short time and it’s something that we all had to go through. You also suggested that they’re likely getting stomped, but not all veteran players are good and not all new players are bad, so I doubt that scenario is happening to the extent that you’re implying. New players also get a bunch of gold packs for completing WZ commendations so the system still could be improved, but it’s not as bad as it used to be.
Fair enough. It does lean a bit in the “straw man” direction. But still the main argument I hear is don’t change it for the sake of tradition or some sense of initiation for the new guy. And well it was a lame initiation and I’ve never been a fan of tradition for the sake of tradition.
