The "Unbalanced" Anniversary Playlist

I’ve seen a lot of hate on the anniversary playlist saying that it’s trash because the weapons are unbalanced and that makes it play like crap. At the risk of sounding too elitist, I’m not sure half of these people ever played the original.

The magnum is the most OP weapon in Halo period, and arguably the most OP weapon in any game ever. It feels and handles exactly like it did in CE. 3 shots for perfect, fast fire rate, and a decent magazine.

Is it OP? OF COURSE IT IS. It’s always been OP. They weren’t trying to make an overly competitive mode. They were trying to play on the nostalgia of a crazy strong weapon, the old school maps, and the chaos that comes with it. Does it play like CE? No. It’s a totally different, and as such it feels different. That wasn’t the point of the playlist. Enjoy the nostalgia, and good off in a social playlist instead of grinding through the sweat fests that are the ranked playlists.

TL;DR - It wasn’t mean to be balance. Enjoy the nostalgia and the social playlist.

I can agree. I think the anniversary throwback playlist is a nice blend of old and new. I hope they keep the playlist. while the original used projectile and now we have hit scan so yeah it’s a bit easier to get the three shot kill it’s not all that much different IMO. it wasn’t that hard what so ever to get it with the original. also at least now other weapons are useful. the AR and the Needler are actually some what effective.
