The visor is for the Mark V [B] core, which I don’t have access to because I didn’t buy the pass.
Sounds about right. I’m surprised we don’t have to pay for the weekly reward before it unlocks
Honestly, Armor Cores should be gifted at the start of a new season by default.
The Shop and the Pass would just be a means to acquire cosmetics beyond event items and weekly challenge items.
Because if you think about it, unless it is a Fractures Event; players that don’t want to buy the pass are going to miss out on the cosmetics of the other events unless there is stuff for the default Mark VII.
For example, look at the Interference Event that happened near the start of the season.
Players that don’t buy the pass are not exactly inclined to play the event to get stuff for the Rakshasa Armor Core they don’t have.
Ergo, player counts diminish.
Statistics go down.
Embarrassment ensues.
In a few more weeks/months we will have cross-core customization. You can then use the visor on Mk. VII, Eaglestrike, Rakshasa and Yoroi.
I do think the Mk. V (b) core should have been given to everybody for free and not be tied to the Season 1 battlepass.
Well when it happens (because they really haven’t said anything since they said they were doing it) it’s only for cannon cores. So it’s only for MK VII, MK Vb and Rakshasa. Not the fracture cores.
Not to mention they said they’re focusing on coating, visor and helmet for cross core. Meaning that you’re still going to be very limited on customization. It’ll be better, but it’s still not enough to fix the major F up of this entire system.
Wait, what? I don’t think I would have bothered had I known I couldn’t use it. The only thing I can hope for now is that they make visors cross core.
I think they should have some selective cross-core when it comes to Fracutures.
I could definitely see that the Gloves and Visors being universal across all Armor Cores, as they are minor cosmetics that would be desired.
Same goes with Armor Coatings.
It was supposed to be ‘wolf fang’ chest knife for rakshasa.
But it changed less than an hour after reset, for no reason.
The distribution of armor for non-Mark VII cores has been extremely mishandled.
There’s no reason for Fracture armor to be released outside of those events. Even shop items should only rotate in on weeks the event is active.
There’s no reason for Season Pass core armor to be released outside of those Passes. ONLY pass owners have access to the armor, so in all honesty ALL pieces exclusive to that core should be in the pass. Also, Season Pass core pieces should seriously be the ONLY items that are part of the paid track of a season pass. Anything for other cores, and anything that doesn’t require owning the season pass core to equip, should be on the free track.
Aside from that, Mark VII armor should always be either included as free Pass rewards, Ultimate Challenges, or shop items. And some should really have been awarded for achievements.
It’s nice they threw MK V core something TBH. Feels like they forgot it existed.
B-b-but you should buy the battle pass! How else is 343 going to make money?!!?!? You know dedicated server cost a lot
Can I just direct you to my thread? https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/should-mark-v-b-just-be-gifted-to-all-players/529687
It’s pretty much just the same thing. Which is saying that since Mark V [B] is not available for free this season, it should be gifted to all players, especially since people would whine about it. It would also be an opportunity to add more armor and shop items that people can buy and use.
No, they said they’re making visors and armor coatings cross core. That is all cores, also Yoroi and Eaglestrike. So this visor will work on Yoroi and Eaglestrike in the future. Unless they were lying for whatever reason.
What will be cross core for canon cores only are the helmets. Because appearantly the sizes of the canon cores and Eaglestrike and Yoroi are so different that clipping will be a big issue.
All visors and paints are usable on the other cores lmao that’s how they were textured. 343 is just looking for ways to not break the monetization system in the process of making a few of them “cross core”
All, not a few. 20 characters.
Why would they make all of them cross core? They’ve already shown that they had no intention to allowing that by not having it as an option at launch and continues being vague about adding it.
343 said it during the presentation of the season 2 battle pass. That it was a mistake not doing that in the first place. And in season 2 the first steps towards cross core will happen:
- cross core for all armor coatings and visors
- cross core helmets for all canon cores (Mk. V(b), Mk. VVI and Rakshasa for now).
I have no clue when this will happen. Could be as far as the last day of season 2 (somewhere in November).
I may not be for crosscore, but it better be before the end of summer. Not October or November. September at the latest.
Rambo they are a business. They have to have something to sell in their Free To Play game.
They make 96% of their Halo Infinite income from the Shop Items and not from the Battle Pass that provides users with the Armor Core.
Giving away the Armor Core for free as a new season opens and just replacing its tier in the battlepass with a challenge swap or a booster would hardly diminish in sales at all.
If anything, it would increase sales since now that players have the Armor Core for free, they might see said players actually look at the shop and go “Huh. That bundle looks nice and it is only $7. Maybe I’ll induldge.”
