The Ultimate Halo Game

Qualifications:

~No AA’s, IE short buffs to movement or safety

~Classic Weaponry

~Nostalgic Halo Feel

Don’t get me wrong, but the gameplay given Here is just plain silly. The models are way out of character, and the weaponry is NOT better off “looking like a jetfighter.” 343 Industries needs to return to the roots of Halo; where it all began and what kick-started the franchise. The physics of Halo 2 were perfect, and as was the styling of the time for its time. If Halo 4 were to possess all the goods of it, there is not doubt it would be wildly successful. It’s as simple as taking the entirety of H2, and raising it from 240p to 1080p.

Really, I’m not sure how it could get any easier than this to create a best selling game. What I’ve seen going on for Halo 4 is quite disturbing. The HUD looks like its from a free online game, and the characters do not move in any known fashion translatable to anything outside of scurrying in haste. Please, do me a favor: pop in Halo 2, and just sit at the main title screen. Then do the same for Halo Reach. After that, the latest CoD game. There is such an astounding difference in feel for them, which defines the experience and gives the game its identity.

I plead those at 343 to take a step back, and return to what has worked in the past; and then make it fit for the present and future.

It’s time for something new. I know you all want your precious Halo 2 back but I don’t think it is ever going to come back. You just have to accept that.

Another thing is that nostalgia really fogs your memories from what was actually bad about Halo 2. There were so many problems in Halo 2 that I remember getting really frustrated over. Super jumps, getting out of the map, laggy netcode, etc.

Sorry OP, but you’re wrong (I’ve had to write that way to often).
Halo 2 does exist in HD, just get Halo 2 for Vista, crank up the graphics setting and boom, good old Halo 2 gameplay in HD with no news. But, as you might now, it’s a quite dead game that very few play, and it does not sell at all these days, it didn’t even sell good in the beginning. It seems like gamers have evolved, they want new games with new features and new gameplay, not old stuff in a shiny new box.
Sure, some might say that Pong was the greatest ever and mean it, just like you would like Halo 2 to be the best, but the rest of us has moved on. Still, go get it for PC if you want to know how good (or not) Halo 2 is by modern standards.

Buy halo 2 for vista then sit down and play it till halo 4 comes out. if u dont like it go back to playing halo 2 for vista and wait for a halo 2 remake/update or what ever

So the ultimate Halo game is… Halo 2?

You’re clearly on the wrong forum

“We want Halo 4 not Halo 3.5 (or in this case Halo 2.5)” We all loved Halo 2, but the golden days of XBL (Halo 2) are over, we can only hope 343 saves XBL. I said XBL, not just Halo because really? You don’t need an explanation.

Why does every one Hate on halo progressing, in real life things update, and add new things, better versions of old things come out, you don’t see golfers running around with clubs that are over a hundred years old, or football player playing with nothing but a leather helmet, or our military using black powder weaponry. this is a game based on super soldiers, why wouldn’t they get armor abilities, and as the players of these super soldiers they put these things in there to keep game play fresh and exciting, if it stayed the same constantly everyone would lose interest.

it would be like throwing society back into the old west era

Ultimate Halo Game: CE

Everything else: Trash and no other sequel will change that. Halo wars was also trash because it didn’t have the 3SK pistol nor was it competitive.

^logic of goldpro/CE nostalgia players.

I do love CE on LAN though. Reach doesn’t give that need to party up with friends i know in the area and have fun. At least Halo 3, 2, and CE retains this unique quality.

Though i think it’s time for fans to stop expecting 343 to bring back CE MP with Halo 4. If refuse to accept future Halo games, just play the PC version/xboxconnect till you get bored and move on.

Now Halo 4 should retain the fast kill times, strafes, and jumps/trick jumps Halo is known for (well reasonably fast kill times without quad shotting or 3SK). Not trying to pretend to be a slow, tactical class base shooter like Reach did. No offense those who liked Reach.

H4 looks awesome.

You haven’t played the game yet, and the movement speed/jump height has been increased.

I think that they should make a Halo 2 Anniversary, but Halo 4 should be Halo 4.

When it comes time for Halo 2 Anniversary, it should be a full blown remake though, with the actual Halo 2 multiplayer, and all of the maps, etc. But add in Forge and Theatre of course.

A lot of the model “weirdness” could be fixed by tweaking the battery packs on the spartans. They weren’t as high up or big in any other Halo. The packs make the Spartan 4s look hunched over and unbalanced as well as making the head appear too far forward.

I’m talking about these things btw.

O yeah, and the SWAT guys will be on here 24/7 if it blocks bullets.

The Ultimate Halo Game has 1-50 ranking system.

All of this is extremely opinionated. If we just went back and made the same game over and over again we’d be no better than CoD. Let 343 experiment and innovate, who knows? They might surprise us.

You know, I’ve been thinking. I should do everything I can to unlearn how to drive. Give up my license, give away my car, and go back to the good old days of getting my parents to drive me around…

What people fail to realize is that rereleasing a game that was popular years ago is not the answer. Yes halo2 is a good game but what sense does it make just to release the same game over again. Halo 2 was popular in its time but halo needs to change. If halo 4 is exactly the same as halo 2 it wont be as successful just because halo 2 was, and that’s what people on this forum just aren’t getting. Society is moving on, technology is getting better, and people want to see something new. Why not reevolve halo for a new generation, just like the first Halo evolved fps in general. I just don’t understand why people are so attached to the old games that they are too stubborn to move on.

Somehow, I think the success of CoD somewhat disproves this.

Call Of Duty games do change but they only change little things, 343 is overhauling halo. Halo doesn’t need to change, this talk about the game needing to evolve is crazy how many of you have had car in perfect working order and took it in to the shop to get a new motor? You change what is broken and leave what works alone. In a lot of peoples opinion Halo 2 wasn’t broken so why do devs have to mess with it til it is? All I know is they are changing a lot of things that made Halo multiplayer Halo whether you like the changes or not is up to you but I haven’t had a completely enjoyable Halo multiplayer experience since Halo 2 and I want that experience back whether or not Halo 4 will give it to me or not is still unknown but what I do know is the recipe for the last Halo game that I played for 3 years non stop instead of 7 to 9 months and that was Halo 2.

Obviously not. People buy COD every year so you are dead wrong. Thats why they made this game like COD obviously…
