The Ultimate Comprehensive Feedback Multi-Poll

Other:

“Service tag system”

-give friendlies their service tag above them
-remove outlines completely (new FoF system only causing confusion and being outline simulator)
-rework visual clarity on being 1shot, shield being 100%, 50%, 20%,[…] to make shield add volume until they “plop”.

you should differ following states with the back of your eye (currently to identical):
-“plop” state
-low shield state
-no shiel state

Other:
Casual needs to be “no skill based matchmaking”.

Every match right now is an unfun demanding sweatfest. This needs to change, since its one stepstone towards good game design (low tension game states, right now you leave the base and get punished respectively your MMR/elo)

I think the way H3 evolved it’s ranking system from H2 was perfect. Adding a progression system that not only rewarded playing but also skill had something for everybody.

Given feedback is important, and one can only hope 343 is willing to listen.

The only problem I see is how the shop is going to determine what changes take place vs what feedback is given.

Can you add to the poll things like radar range (25m, 18m, etc) , all chat (Yes, No)?
Even if I know what will be the answers it will better show 343 what players prefers.

How should team colors be handled? I choose other.

For the enemy and friendly color it should be kept it how it is, however the enemy should only become highlighted once your crosshairs go over them, and remain highlighted until a couple of seconds after your crosshairs are not on them. I believe this gives a nice balance to this feature and will accepted by both sides. Friendly should remain highlighted even when behind objects.

How should armor be handled?

I think any of the emblems, coatings and visor colors you get you should be able to use on all cores. I also believe there are even emblems that aren’t available all cross the board. I believe if I pay money for a visor color or armor coating it should be accessible to all cores and not limit to a core or kit. If they want set coating then they should treat them like they have done weapon skins. Example like how they had different paint jobs or patterns on the Halo 5 armor. Then with those paint jobs/patterns have set colors like they have with the emblems. Emblems should have more color chooses as well.

What other fixes would you like to see?

I would change the Challenges made conducive to playing to win rather than selfishly, to Challenges made conducive to playing to complete a match rather than selfishly.

How should player collisions be handled?

I think this should have one more option. Such as “Fine either way” or “Don’t Care Either Way” or “Neutral” or one of the previous with “I see the good or bad with both it being on or off.”

What Capstone Challenge system would you prefer?

Every week, you can choose which previously incomplete capstone challenge you want to unlock when you complete weekly challenges. You can buy an additional set of challenges if you want to attempt multiple unlocks per week. though I would add after previously incomplete “or current capstone”.

Base-line XP is your score multiplied by %10-%20, then challenges are used to rank up faster

It does though? I’m confused.

Well, what I CAN do is make a poll that suggests a shift for more free stuff for players. But I’m not even going to suggest a shift that drastic, we have to respect 343i’s bottom line if we don’t want to get laughed at. Even customizable shaders feels a little bit like a stretch but since they could monetize that I think it would be okay. But 70% of stuff being free? That would only work for a full price game.

I’ll see if I can add a poll for this. The trouble with adding “other” options is that I can’t modify the poll itself, and the voters are less likely to come back and re-vote anyway. But since the team color vote is multi-choice I think it should be easy to just add another choice after - ideally it would be more than one choice to keep it clean but as there aren’t many option suggestions I’ll probably just add this separate.

Maybe an additional modifier to change how you matchmake? Skill based vs fast connection?
You have to remember though, skill-based matchmaking makes the game universally more fun. Yes, you may have to try harder, but without skill-based you get into matches where you might curb-stomp or get curb-stomped, and that’s not fun for the other team. Casual is set up so that you have to try if you want to win, but winning doesn’t really matter because it isn’t ranked. Still, I’ll add a poll.

Right on.

Right. We need to try to not hurt 343i’s bottom line if we want to see change. So if we want coating customization, we need to recognize that they will monetize the hell out of that. But at least it will have more freedom.

For things like radar range which are being widely talked about and have a fairly universal answer, I want to provide options such that we can see what the MOST popular answer is, rather than just yes/no when we all know the answer is yes. In the case of radar range I’m not sure what the options should be or what the current range is (it feels like 0m lol) so it’s hard for me to make the poll without more info. I also don’t know what you mean by all chat.

Yeah, provide multiple options, :+1:

For the all chat, it is because you can’t talk to the enemy team, you only have team chat in the game, they did like Battlefield 2042 when they removed it when in previous games there was the possibility.

Hmm. Seems I can’t edit the original post any more. Let’s use this topic to come up with a finalized poll list, and then I’ll make a second topic that will Keep it Clean

For that one, this is the poll I was thinking:
Which radar “fixes” would you like to see?

  • Radar always 25m range
  • Radar turned ON in ranked
  • Radar upgraded to differentiate opponent height better
  • Other (describe below)

0 voters

How’s that lookin

Oh I meant to say, I actually really like this although I think it might train people to impulsively shoot and see if it was an enemy after, because getting the drop is key.

That was meant to be implied haha

Yes, please add a poll for the radar. In its current state is does more harm than good.

In custom games, you can set it to 24m and it is PERFECT.

For a radar poll, 24m is where it should be.

Options:
Leave as-is
Increase to 24m across all modes (consistency)
Only increase BTB to 24m
Other

For anyone who doesn’t think 24m sounds good, head into a custom game and in the settings set the radar to 90% and you’ll see the difference.

And yes, it is counter- intuitive saying 90% but the default value is actually 70%. They know the current radar is a bad idea so I don’t know why they’re trying so hard to ruin it.

TURN THAT STRAFE ACCELERATION DOWN. Most unnatural movement I’ve seen in Halo thus far. This ain’t Halo 2. This is a next gen game, out some proper momentum in the movement and tune down the strafing speed. With the way Aim Assist is now, it’s a matter of how random youll be able to hit your shots if you aren’t using the BR or AR, and even then with those guns it’s still too much.

80% makes it feel like Halo 3 in custom games.

They have the capacity to do it but they wanna die on this hill of not doing anything Bungie did.

Which ironically, the two BEST things about Infinite this far are things directly copied from Bungie - the art style and the music.

I like the Halo 3 Progression system but dear god do not use that game’s trueskill algorithm.

If I could add a new point of conversation, audio needs a full rework, mixing wise. I can’t tell if audio wasn’t a focus or if something is bugged, but gunfire and footsteps have a ridiculously low volume, regardless of proximity. Even with Dolby Atmos enabled on my headphones, spatial audio is next to nonexistent.

Also for whatever reason my controller doesn’t vibrate on PC so it made me notice there’s almost no aural indicator that you’re taking damage in the moment.

Sound is everything in games like these!

Unfortunately I can’t add any more polls tothis topic. Once allpolls are finalized I could make a new topic though

I’ve only noticed the reticule turn red when I wield a melee weapon like an Energy Sword. I don’t notice it at all when I’m using just an AR, Sidekick or any other regular weapon.

Why do so many Muppets like the scope glare. It’s -Yoink!-. You already were punished for hardscoping by losing radar. Now it just promotes only lame quickscoping and punishes anyone for trying to actually snipe.

It’s a crutch for players with poor awareness.

Completely agree. Well stated.
