The UI...

I just started playing again after a little break (gots to play those other games, ya know?) and the first thing that hit me was how horrible the UI is in this game. I know it’s always been bad, but it stuck out like a sore thumb coming back from a lot of Overwatch. Then I thought back and realized that basically every UI that 343i have created has been really clunky and difficult to use.

First off, STOP WITH THE -Yoinking!- HORIZONTAL MENUS! They are the most infuriating part of 343i’s UI design, and after the criticism of them in Halo 4 it seems like they quadrupled down on them in this game. GRIDS, 343i, GRIDS! Plus, if you’re going to put over 300 items in a category, put a search bar in for Christ’s sake, but really, about 60% of the emblems suck, so remove them, or better yet let us make our own emblems and stop going backwards (gots to make that $ somehow though, keep filling that REQ pool with useless -Yoink-, its really satisfying to unlock, trust me).

I don’t understand why 343i feels like they need to change literally every single thing about their games. Reach’s UI was as perfect as a game UI can get. It’s maybe the best thing about that game TBH. To go from that to Halo 4, then to Halo 5 shows that they are either not trying or horrible at their jobs, simple as that.

I think Halo 5 has decent UI. I agree the microtransactions are a bit scary moving forward. But that’s just the gaming industry, sadly.

The UI definitely sucks. Halo 3’s was the best. As far as armor went, you also had to earn it back then. You didn’t just get armor by getting lucky. As far as the UI being the best thing about Reach, that was way too harsh. Reach was definitely better than Halo 4 and it wasn’t bad. I really didn’t have much of a problem with Reach as I did with this game.

I just hope they read these threads and fix everything in H6.
