The Truth

As someone who has been a fan of halo since I was a child, this series will never be able to free itself from its own shackles until mouse and keyboard is the dominant input method. The majority of individuals who play FPS related titles use M&K. That is where the money is. It’s unfortunate for the reliable fans over the years and the pro’s who rely on it for income, but in order for Halo to truly succeed financially and competitively it needs to become dominated by M&K.

What?

I’m pretty sure people like to chill out on the couch and play halo casually too, especially with a buddy

I think their going to bump up the aim assist my guy they’re trying to get little kids to play this game too.

That is fine. As in competitively, the game should be M&K.

I doubt that, people are saying the aim assist is too much and I’m sure it’ll be tweaked, I’m hoping aim assist will be off in ranked games though.

You’re saying the game series that first proved an FPS could work on controller and is the poster child for the Xbox console needs to get away from controllers? Well, it’s a bold take, I’ll give you that much…

Don’t know why this made me laugh as much as it did. Thanks for that.

OP is right. Hence why this game was made specifically with PC in mind, not console.

Considering Halo 1 was released in 01 and Counter-Strike was released as a mod in like 99’, PC’s were crap in quality in comparison to the Xbox. Times have changed and Halo Infinite could be extremely successful within the PC market if catered to. We currently have no FPS that has long TTK worth anything.

The title was originally made for consoles as an FPS series back in 2001 and has since been most prominent on consoles with only the first 2 games getting a PC port after some time passing. In fact, MCC was console only for some time before 343 dragged it onto PC…so, what exactly are you on about that it needs to be a mouse and keyboard priority series? Are you implying that there are far more PC players than there are console players or something? Because I’m confused by your statement.

It’s simple. If the game is to succeed during release, you have to have a competitive scene. This competitive scene should be M&K players or the overall public consensus will be “AIM ASSIST CONTROLLER NOOBS”.

Ok except we all know what happens when you try to force a competitive scene. It doesn’t work at all the way you expect it to. Look at Halo 3, it didn’t even try to sell itself as a competitive game and the competitive scene just came to it. So how about we don’t try to force something to be what we want it to and just let it sort itself out, yeah?

WOAH WHAT!!! Bruv you wouldn’t be able to hit a single shot without aim assist on controller it’s not as accurate is MnK

We live in a different time then when Halo 3 was released. Streamers with influence like Summit1g will sway the potential player base of this game. I want Halo Infinite to thrive on PC and it’s not going to happen until M&K becomes the main input method.

Negative Ghost Rider, MnK doesn’t need to be the main input for it to succeed or thrive. I’m sure it’ll do just fine on its own. Because I think you’re failing to understand that a game doesn’t need to be the ‘go to’ game for streamers to be a decent or thriving game. Whatever happened to playing games just to have fun?

Man these PC players are something else lmao. They are certainty the LOUD minority on this forum and reddit.

But I guess…the loud ones always get there way right?

If aim assist were off, you’d never hit a target. Ever. Controllers are far too imprecise.

Ah yes what a great idea, completely alienate the majority controller player base in favor of mnk. You sound moronic, like Drdirespect or Courage saying Infinite would die without a BR.

Infinite could dominate on Xbox since the top played games are all f2p shooters. Meanwhile on PC the top played games are mixed like CS, Lol and dota. Fortunately for you 343 hasn’t listened to any feedback about console aim assist and looks like they’re intentionally ignoring it in order to favor PC.

Because that’s what the vast majority of players want out of a FPS. Look at Valorant as an example. Yes, a game doesn’t have to be the flavor of the month on streaming platforms to be a thriving game. It does most certainly influence things.
