The Truth about Shop Feedback

Sketch’s tweet says it all, and can be seen in this video

They have overwhelming mountains of feedback regarding the monetization, customization and progression - or, lack thereof - in this game.
The answer is simple people, VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET. This is what they’d need to implement changes, it has been made abundantly clear the decision makers only care about making money and public image. If either of those aspects are tarnished or tampered with, we receive swift and decisive action.

Stop posting feedback on forums that will never be read by anyone who can make those changes. I truly believe that a large percentage of the devs are awesome and really care about Halo, unfortunately its evident that those same people who would likely read your feedback also get zero say in addressing feedback through changes.

Don’t buy credits unless a price is what you feel is fair, Ignore FOMO because everything will eventually return and likely on sale. For those with existing credits, use them only if something is a good deal. (Personally I feel like anything in the store is a ripoff asides from the battle pass, and even that isn’t something I’d say is great) However, if an item in the store is clearly overpriced then just don’t get it and instead wait to see if the sale price is a better deal to you.

Furthermore, cross core is never coming. They said that they had been working to make vehicle coatings for things like the warthog/razorback/rockethog work on each vehicle. This weeks ultimate reward is the same coating as the one unlockable in the S2 bp at tier 64 for the razorback… not to mention that its also the same coating unlockable in the S2 BP at tier 29 for the Mark VII core (note, its only on this core). This only represents the most recent example of this happening yet, if you look, there are countless others… VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET.

343 has dumbed down the Halo experience so much that if this is how Halo games continue to operate moving forward then those future Halo games are going to have to remain free to play, just like Infinite. There is no way in hell I am buying a Halo game at full price before I see it fully released, especially with 343 behind the wheel. 343 could mess up a wet dream.

Meh, if I see something I like, I’m going to buy it unless it’s a bonkers price.

But the jokes on 343.

If they don’t do something to attract people to the game, they won’t make their investment back long term.

80% of your revenue come from 20% of your customers.
And that might be the 20% that stayed.

Just saying, and I posted this on another post because it’s 100% fact.

Voting with our wallets won’t do anything at all. The main reason it won’t is because majority of the player base doesn’t know or care what a forum is. The community is only a tiny % of the player base, and even then, most of the community doesn’t care what the cost is. They will still throw money at the useless shop that does absolute nothing at all for the game.

When you can convince the community to stop which will be literally impossible, maybe you might get 343’s attention, “maybe”.

Took a break from the forums and halo infinite news. Come back and everyone is getting angrier and angrier. Great work 343!

Also a rip off it’s the same as buying stuff in the store. The customisation on the battle pass would be much better sold through grinding and achievements.

We’re in the dark times of gaming!

It’s unfortunately the way it is now.

It really feels like 343i aren’t listening, and the reason people are probably getting progressively hostile in these comment sections is simply because they feel like their voices aren’t being heard. This causes people to feel the need to shout louder and louder to try and be heard by a company which isn’t willing to listen.

I mean heck, look at what Ske7ch said. He basically told us to keep shouting about it until it gets fixed. That’s a terrible idea, but it’s the only way we can apply feedback now.

I’m basically past the point of yelling and just feel sad and disappointed with it all. When the community makes angry posts it’s because they really truly care and can see how much potential is just being squandered. A ton of people now -myself included- have kinda just stopped caring. It’s not that we love the IP any less, I think we just have given up caring about something more than the people who actually manage it.

My post was mainly wrote to shed some light on why many things haven’t/won’t change or improve. Basically to point out that while they may hear feedback audibly coming from the community, they are only invested in listening to feedback cognitively when it affects their bottom line.

Currently the community and fans are making up a substantial portion of the player base, and the op is also not about having everyone read my post and having them change their ways. I’m rather interested in creating a general consensus within the community which was very present at launch and has since dwindled a fair bit. We really need content creators spreading this kind of message as well.
Lastly, voting with our wallets is absolutely noticed. While many people will buy things every so often who aren’t ‘part of the community’ most people don’t buy things in a game they aren’t super interested in and even if they do, it typically doesn’t continue for very long. Therefore if the player base was a hypothetical 100k people and 65k are big halo fans-because realistically, ‘the broader audience’ isn’t still playing this game- and active in community (whether it be active on forums or watching YouTube videos from Halo content creators), if the general consensus was ‘Vote with your wallet for change’, 343 would very quickly feel this type of feedback and react quite rapidly. When I say rapid, imagine for a minute that you are in charge of the business dept at 343. It’s business as usual and then suddenly the games profits drop by a significant percent and all of your quarterly estimates need to be revised. Change, in this kind of situation, would happen so fast that people wouldn’t believe it.
Hopefully it wouldn’t take this long but, in a year or 2 when the game is content complete and the core fanbase is all that is left, my hope is that our general consensus will have remained strong.
