I need to mention that I have read a lot of the forums here on waypoint recently, and I must say, that most of it is not “Fact”! Only “Opinionated”.
What I mean is the “Bungie Veterans” and (the so called) “343 Fanboys” Forums and Polls. Example: Old art style vs New art style, each side has an opinion. So saying Old is the only way is false! It is opinion not fact, and vice versa. Old Mechanics vs New, it is just opinion based.
The greatest Halo game is the one you choose, it may not be anothers but that does not make your choice Right or Wrong, True or False.
Halo 5 many will not like, does that make it a bad game to you? Halo 5 many will like, does that make it a good game to you?
Each game will have their ups and downs for different reasons for different people. In Halo 2 some did not like the fact that half the game was replaced with Arbiter, a new character, instead of Cheif. Many didn’t like Playable Elites but now there are many who will miss them. Many will feel that Halo 3 had the best multiplayer and now they miss it, while other H3 players will enjoy Halo 5s.
Community members opinions are Not Dogma. Many will Enjoy what Many will not. Halo is different to each individual.
Halo is how you make it out to be.
In a Jewellery shop there are some masterfully crafted, golden rings. However the luxurys are made by two different master craftsmen, but each ring are of same craftsmanship and value. A customer walks into the store and gazes upon the two Rings, each with it own design. To the customer the ring bought will be the one more special to him, it does not mean one ring was better than another.
One Craftsman leaves to start a new business, the other stays behind to look after the Jewellery shop. Many will not like what Rings are crafted in the store, but it is the same store. There are two friends who each have their own Ring from the same store, but they squabble over whos is better and whos craftsman is better. Now they are no longer friends. BUT, they accept their differences and become friends once more!
The Jewellery shop is the Halo Franchise.
The Craftsman are Bungie and 343.
The Rings are the Halo games made by either Bungie or 343.
The Customers are Halo players.
The friends are the 2 sides of the Halo community.
The Community needs work together to make Halo great, fighting against each other is dividing Halo.
So let’s make Halo great again by making the community great again!

Very well written post but unfortunately most what you describe is basic human nature. Every person has a preference to what they like and what they dislike. Many people will become overt passionate about their opinions and make arguments that they are right when in fact they are not. No one is. If I kill a man is it wrong. Most people would say yes. Some will say no. Those who say no are in the minority of people and would be considered wrong but there is no fact out there that says they are wrong. People are what determine that they are wrong. This applies to Halo. Some will say what 343 has done with Halo is wrong. Others will say it is amazing. There is no fact out there that says you are right or wrong for liking it. People can bring up statistics that say you are wrong such as lack of players but really you are right as long as you think you are right when it comes to things like this. So no real resolve can ever be found because there is no right answer and it is all based on individual preference.
This is just like politic. There are three parties, classic, neutral, and new. The company is sort of the president in this case. When Bungie (president) was making Halo, classic players enjoyed and liked it (their party). Now 343 became the new president and they got new party backing them. Bungie’s Halo and 343’s Halo will be always compared and fought between those two sides. Or this could be view as dynasty that Bungie dynasty is dead and 343 dynasty has rise. People from Bungie dynasty went away and some are still fighting to revive theirs. 343’s people will defend from those people to keep 343 dynasty stable.

So they’re opinions? Excuse my bluntness, but yeah, no -Yoink- they’re opinions.
We all know they’re opinions. The only people that ever point that out are the ones trying to silence those opinions, as if saying, “that’s just your opinion” suddenly makes it not matter. “It’s just your opinion” is a slick way of saying, “stop complaining.”
Bot necessarily saying you’re doing that, OP, but that all remains true in almost every case.

I know. I just don’t like how some only care for their opinion and not consider anothers viewpoint.
