I am going to start off and say that i hate COD but BO2 looks like its trying something different and gamers should respect that. But Halo and COD are totally seperate and while other people are worrying why Halo is changing is because COD has so much larger of a fanbase that they must be doing something right for a change(not making the same game over and over). COD made the use of custom loadouts, perks, skins, and sprint into its game because the majority of FPS gamers love thos qualities and 343 saw that in COD. So why should you care if Halo looks at COD for advice and takes ideas. Its not like COD invented all of those things, but just revolutionized them. 343’s job is to make Microsoft money and they are doing that by adding variety. The waypoint community isn’t that larger so they probably won’t listen to petty complaints, but the truth is COD has copied infection, theatre from Halo but yet you get angry when we just borrow some ideas from other shooters. The truth both games dominate the FPS industry but both can build upon other ideas and craft them into another unique idea making something fresh. Its called Innovation. Without innovation to a series, games will always be the same and IMO that is boring.

Personally I don’t hate COD when it’s in split screen with your friends. The moment you go online you get all this crap like noob tubes and camping… it’s awful.
That’s one of the main things that made me switch to Halo… the balance. Also love the teamwork. Takes much more skill. In COD it’s a matter of who sees who first. In Halo you can always fight back. Also, vehicles.
I’m fine with what you said except one thing. You said that innovation is needed for a game to survive. This is true, but don’t think that this was the only route Halo could have gone. It’s something so many people on the forums do, saying that the game has to evolve so we have to go this way.
Personally, I could have seen Halo go many different ways, and this was not the way I was hoping for, so I’m just disappointed.
I agree! 343 is trying to add a lot of customization while trying to appeal to everyone.
i like both cod and halo as well but i will always like halo better i grew up on it i still play reach even.
I agree, they could’ve stuck a little more to the basic/original Halo. But I’m also interested in what they can do with the franchise. But yes they shouldn’t make it appeal to all gamers, if you like Halo you like it simple as that.
But as long as they don’t bring back that Halo 1 pistol I’m happy.

No, no we all appreciate you’re honest opinion. We may not like it, but we like the honestly lol.
I still don’t think they are ripping off of CoD. The armor should have some effect, it only makes sense if they are going to make these long drawn out descriptions and back the “Infinity” by fiction and canon. Weapon skins can’t really be credited to CoD.
If anything BO1 ripped off of Halo with the Theater.
