The true problem with the Crimson Map Pack

So, numerous threads have been made about the Crimson Map Pack being free, and obviously it is. However, most of the people on these forums know by now that you will have to actually purchase these maps in order to continue playing them online, after December 18th.

This is a very, very bad mistake that has been made by Microsoft/343 Industries, and here’s why.

There are thousands of Halo players out there, who believe that this map pack was free, and just think of it as a gift or free DLC from 343. You must realize that the majority of the Halo community does not go to forums, they just play the game. Now, when this ‘free’ DLC is taken away from these people in the dark, they will be left confused and frustrated. I expect the population of the game to drop quite a bit, as this blunder will frustrate a lot of players.

In short, 343/Microsoft should realize this mistake, refund 800 Microsoft Points to those who bought the map pack legitimate, whether it was through the war games pass, LE, or whatever. In my opinion, the majority of the community will be much happier with this outcome, rather than the free maps being pulled away.

Regardless of what Microsoft actually does, I won’t be buying these maps. They came out a month after release which is sketchy to say the least, and they aren’t very good for small 4v4 Halo. My favorite type of Halo.

Thoughts?

You are right. Plain and simple. This is a coverup for the mistakes made with the release, and that makes the idea rushed and flawed. This is one of those flaws.

or they can just send a message to your account saying its only a free trail.

If that was the case, they should have done that BEFORE anyone played these maps for free. Doing that after the fact is bad business.

The best case scenario sure, but this is Microsoft my friend. Recall ME 3’s PR nuke regarding the ending? It’s just not going to happen.

Your more likely to win the lottery than have microsoft refund your money. True statistic.
