The TRUE issue with No grenade PICKUP

An average player usually uses there grenades pretty quickly, often times at the first gunfight.

That player who wins should be rewarded with the enemies grenades. This allows this player to have an equal advantage with the next player who just respawed with grenades.

Not only is this a disadvantage for you, it makes the game slightly less entertaining. (Maybe just slightly, but dont we want this game to be the best it can be?)

Halo Multiplayer is all about being able to anaylyze a varity of given situations and reacting to them according to the weapons you have at your disposal. By not allowing us to pickup up grenades, your taking out variety from Halos multiplayer. And if you want that variety back, you have to actually pick an armor mod. Armor mods shouldnt detract from multiplayer without the use of it.

Its something that could possibly be patched in the future. Grenades at their current state are pretty weak compared to Reach’s, so balance would not be compromised.

I believe inability to pick up grenades is an issure because it detracts from the varity of the game, it subtracts deserved reward for slaying, and there isnt a reason for it not to be an ability!!

It makes players unable to spam grenades and teaches them to utilize them in a more tactical way.

Grenade can be picked up as ordnance drops from Infinity during gameplay, and still spawn on maps, not being able to pick up grenades from fallen enemies is not that large of a change, and better players will be able to adapt to it. Not calling you bad, just saying Halo is about using the resources given to you, not just getting a lucky grenade off.

You can pick up grenades if you have resupply.

This.

I don’t think grenade spamming is even as bad as it what in previous Halo games. In halo 2 you could carry 8 grenades on you at one time and in Halo 3 you could carry 12 (well usually only 8 in MP since the brute and flame grenades weren’t on many maps), whereas in Reach it was only 4 and Halo 4 it’s only 6.

I’m not worried that nades will be hard to find or anything, it’s just principle. It’s absurd that the ability to pick up grenades off fallen enemies has been turned into a perk/armor mod/whatever you want to call it. This should be just part of standard gameplay.

Halo has suffered having too many grenades in a game for a long time. Think about it:

Halo CE 4v4:

Players Spawn = 8 x 4 Grenades per player = 32 grenades off spawn.

  • ~8 Plasma Grenades on the map = 40 Grenades after pickup
plus ~8 Frags on map for replenishment = 48 possible grenades.

That’s 48 without calculating Respawns for either players or map grenades, or grenades dropped by death.

Halo 2 4v4: (arguably the best)

Player Spawn = 8 x 1 Grenades per player = 8 grenades off spawn.

  • ~ 8 Plasma Grenades on the map = 16 Grenades after pickup
  • ~ 8 Frags on the map = 32 grenades after pickup

32 grenades floating around the game, again without player or nade spawns or grenades dropped by death.

Halo 3 and Reach 4v4:

Player Spawn = 8 x 2 Grenades per player = 16 grenades off spawn.

  • ~ 8 Sticks per map = 32 after pickup.
  • ~ 8 Frags on map = about 40 possible grenades after replenishment.

48, 40, and least of all 32 grenades all ready to be thrown and spammed at any given point in the game. It’s just too much, even Halo 2’s should honestly have have about half as many grenades on map as it did. Reducing the amount of grenades that can be collected is a very important thing that needs to be done.

yes. at first i thought it annoying because one of my top three ways of killing people was with sticks. but when i thought about it i realized that what it meant to me as a gun user. i can place a sticky like a pro and im pretty solid with a DMR(not so much BR), but when it comes to a frag i cant do jack. so in a firefight(not gametype) with someone who would go with the frag/br/dmr i would lose 9 times out of 10. what it means for me now is that less people will use this method and i will stand more of a chance in your standard firefight.

what about “^ this” haha
