I hope the ‘true fans’ that come here aren’t the ones that have only played Reach and say the ones who came from the beginning aren’t because they don’t believe in the direction it’s going. Yes, I know your thread said since the start, I’m just saying.
Anyway, I’m excited to get to relive the childish fantasy I once had as being Chief. I can’t say I’m happy at all about the changes especially because of multiplayer but I’m still excited for the story aspect as I fell in love with it when I was pretty little. Hopefully the campaign is fulfilling regardless of the gameplay because of the story, I’ve pretty much given up hope as far as multiplayer goes.
I could easily put up with Halo 4’s changes, but I was kinda pissed when they announced the return of the Jetpack and Bloom. I just cannot believe they decided to bring that -Yoink!- back. Also it looks like they have brought back Halo Reach’s pointless ranking system. Hopefully they have a ranked playlist with a good ranking system (Halo 2’s 1-50).
im excited for the game and i like the direction its going sort of. the only thing im on the fence about is bloom (i didnt mind it in reach and it didnt bother me but still) and the personal ordinance thing. other then that everything sounds pretty awesome! the character designs are amazing along with the graphics.
as much as i love the original trilogy i want something new and refreshing and halo 4 seems like it might deliver that for me.

Played every halo since release. I’m a true avid halo fan.
Love the story, love the universe, and love master chief, and love cortina.
That said.
I want new weapons. New vehicles. Better forge than reaches forge. I want a real pelican to fly my friends around in. I want to have a lot more armor customization options. I want recon. I want hayabusa as well, phat chance though.
I want the campaign to be amazing and epic.
I doubt cortina will die, this is the first of three more games. I’d imagine we see the effects of her rampancy somewhere near mid game, or late game campaign. Also I’d imagine in the second or third game, she is either rogue and we try and save her via forerunner tech or something spectacular, or she just flat out dies.
Maybe even Halsey would know how to make a newer AI that can live longer than 7 years to keep her around forever!
Either way this game is looking and sounding great and I can’t wait to play it!

It would have been cool if instead of invasion we’d have either a giant map for CTF or Slayer of 32 vs 32 players where when you die you respawn in the Pelican waiting to reach a part of the map where you parachute out onto the battlefield, would have been way more fun then invasion if they wanted something different.

I can’t really say anything positive about the changes in gameplay. I still think its going to be a good game, just nowhere near as good as it was. I’m going to miss dual-wielding, hop fully it comes back in the future.
I am VERY exited about the campaign. Can’t wait to jump right in to the story. Spartan Ops also sounds great. I think we’ll still miss FireFight though.

I hate the term “true fan”. As if by playing from the beginning makes you more entitled to be a fan or that you can claim an Elite status.

Played every Halo game, found every Terminal and Data-pad and underlying feature, even every skull.
Played all on legendary (even if it doesn’t show on my GT seeing as I didn’t start with an Xbox, I had friends who had Halo 2 and 3 which I played on and beat and immediately played multiplayer on)
Halo:C.E. on the comp, now that was bad–Yoink- at it’s finest, especially some of the player made maps, vehicles, and so on.
Read every book, from Ghost’s of Onyx to Glasslands, Cryptum, and onwards.
In terms of Halo 4:
I love the assassin looking Elite (don’t know how i feel about the suit arm-sleeves that don’t attach to the main suit thing though) But I love the raptor claw.
And have you noticed the new design of the Energy Sword?? Sick…
And all the possibilities with this new multiplayer, this new Forge even.
I mean think about it, all the other forges were based on Monitors, were in a giant dreadnaught with a combat deck FULL of unlimited possibilities in terms of creation for all we know.
I want Forge info real bad but I think that’s the route being taken.

That’s a good point. Anyone can be a true fan regardless of when they started playing, but it’s the ones I mentioned up there ^ that annoy me, it’s completely acceptable for old fans to dislike the new changes without being trolls or not fans.
