Until one of the recent Updates, this Emblem was unobtainable. However, one thing that I (and others) have noticed about the players who managed to unlock it is that they’re all noobs. The Prima Guide originally listed the Smash! Commendation (Melee Kills) has the unlock for Triad; seeing as how I never received this Emblem after completing that Commendation oh so long ago, I assumed that it was yet another mistake in a list riddled with errors and omissions.
Except, now I don’t think I actually received an Emblem from that Commendation at all! Which is why I think that the Prima-we-hate-proofreading List was actually right: given how easy it is to complete that Commendation, it makes sense that low level players would be the ones who have it equipped. Clearly, the Smash Commendation Pack was bugged in that it didn’t grant the Triad Emblem, or perhaps the Pack itself was bugged so that it never apoeared in the first place. Either way, 343i ninja patched the Pack so that it now grants the correct reward to those who complete the Commendation.
While this sounds great, this has created a massive issue: Any and all Halo 5 players who completed the Commendation before it was patched never received the Emblem, and since it takes maybe a week to complete it, that’s an overwhelming majority of the playerbase who can’t currently unlock the Triad Emblem. And since the Triad Emblem is a visual reference to the Triforce, which is arguably one of the most iconic symbols in Gaming, not being able to unlock the moderately-popular Emblem makes the problem a bit more important than if the Emblem in question was, say, Number Four.
And if I’m right, which is very likely, that means that unless you kept your Smash Pack (if it even existed) until after the patch, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO UNLOCK THIS EMBLEM. Unless, of course, 343i retroactively rewards it to everyone who met the unlock requirements, which is basically 90% of the Halo 5 playerbase, which may happen in the Memories of Reach Update if we can get their attention in time.

They’ll probably just patch it in at some point so that everyone that is supposed to have it gets it.

What does this have to do with the thread? He is talking about an emblem that is glitch, not the unlocking of the emblems themselves

I cant recall what I received for the smash commendation. If it was an error, that they have since corrected, the emblem should be at the very least added to the req pool, for those that have finished the commendation to unlock.
How timely this is. I just posted a thread about this in the support boards. I completed that commendation and was given the Auspicious emblem instead since I’ve been playing from launch day.
Triad is the emblem I’ve rocked since my Halo 3 days, so you can see where this is problematic for me. It should at least make it to where players that have the prerequisites met can get it out of a Silver/Gold pack. 
Hopefully this thread proves me wrong about my attitude, because I’m convinced 343 just doesn’t care and won’t address it. I’d like to NOT have to delete my save data and start from scratch to tackle this, especially since I just got done with Silver packs. I’d have restarted my progress 40 ranks ago if I knew this was the problem.
EDIT: Got impatient and tried to “delete everything”. Multiplayer data isn’t deleted because it’s only on the “magical cloud system”. Shows my age. 
Looks like I have no choice but to wait on a solution, or nothing at all.
It’s pretty much bs, becuase I finished that pack in the first week I had the game and I didn’t know that’s how you unlocked that emblem. It really pisses me off knowing I have a dent in my emblems and I can’t fix it, it also bothers my OCD as well. Not only that, but The Legend of Zelda is my favorite gaming franchise and I would like to use and customize it like the Triforce.
This has been a huge bummer for me, silly I know. For over ten years my emblem has always been the triad and my character has always been green with yellow/gold accents. (Sometimes I will switch it up to the blue “tunic”)

Which is exactly why this is a bigger issue than if it were a different, more generic Emblem. I’m trying to confirm the current unlock theory, and when I do I’ll post about the issue in the Feedback Section.

Old forums confirm that the final pack for completing the Smash commodation was just a regular commodation pack.

Nothing as far as I know. Unless we make enough of a fuss about it, 343i probably won’t do anything to help those who should have it.
