They fork in the center, lots of trees do this, you only notice on this one because they have no center needles, and are angled up.
They look fine…if they’re alien trees, they have a pretty good design.

There is nothing missing? And else it would just look like a Pinetree.
But of course it’s not finished yet, there has been a lot of polishing since that build.

I know I’m just repeating what everybody else has said, but these aren’t trees from Earth, therefore they don’t need to be like the ones we have here.
I like how they’re different, especially since they look awesome!
I think they look alright, definitely better than the Gta V trees, they look even worse atm.

There are no evergreen trees (aka trees with needles, as you say) that fork up like this. You’re thinking of a few species of palm, and even then, the palm has three distinct “trunks” ascending from the base.
Also, how can you say that nothing’s missing?!? Alien-species prediction aside, can you honestly not see that a tree that should look like this actually looks like this? The entire trunk is missing in the middle!
On top of that, the branches are very 2D. If you look at the tree from the top-down (aka a cross section), you’d see that it makes the shape of a star, rather than a circle. It’s ugly and unappealing.
They do look quite odd, but as others have said it is a different planet, and the wildlife and nature isn’t going to look the same.
I won’t mind it much.

This. I really think that the Halo series should introduce some more bizarre and alien flora, to help the player feel that they’re on another world and such.

I’m so certain they didn’t forget the center that I’m entirely done with this thread.
The fact that you could even think someone would just forget an entire part of a tree rather than it being intentional speaks volumes.

That’s weird, because I look at them and say, “Whoa! That’s a tree, but it’s missing the entire top half and it’s made of pixellated branches rather than branches as seen in Valhalla of Halo 3.”
They just don’t look like finished products at the moment. It’s mostly due to the straight nature they have - they come to sharp points rather than split into smaller branches. It’s unappealing.
Maybe because they were suppose to look like that intentionally? God I swear…
Maybe that’s the way trees look like on that planet
