So this message was just recently posted on the Hunt the truth tumblr. Describing the date of Chief’s ‘KIA’ as a typo and the woman who broke the news was punished by being re-assigned to a mining colony.
So it appears the trailer was part of the Hunt the Truth campaign. It’s a conspiracy!

I find it interesting that Chief is reported KIA the same day Fireteam Osiris lands on sanghelios. Maybe we’ll hear this same news in the actual game from Osiris’s stand point?
That someone gave her a speech isn’t proof of anything; this is how almost every speech ever written goes. Someone writes it and then someone else delivers. Certainly fits the mold for a government announcement.
