"The Thursday war" cover released.

BAM!

There seems to be a new armour, possibly Naomi in her mark VII? It looks pretty close to the default armour in reach.

I am caught between “Eww” and “Awesome”. I really think the armors are being rushed.

I want to know how long the Infinity is

> I want to know how long the Infinity is

It’s 3.5 kilometers long. Roughly larger than UNSC carrier.

I have a reasonable belief that UNSC Infinity is indeed Supercarrier.

Armor looks very Mk V-ish.

Over 3.5km long if I recall correctly.
State your reasons.

Because of its size and theoretical armament…

The UNSC have impeccable taste in ship design and aesthetics. The people who design them, are they Borg?

Frankie said it’s exact 3.5 kilometers, not longer.

UNSC Supercarrier Descriptions

Notice that it says: “Due to its size in Navy, only few constructed.” Which it implies that UNSC Supercarrier is largest known navy ship in UNSC. And yet, UNSC states that UNSC Infinity is largest known vessel to UNSC. So, I believe it may be new design of Supercarriers? I’m not sure.

And also, Glasslands implied that UNSC Infinity were equipped with Forerunner-enhanced weaponry as well.

> The UNSC have impeccable taste in ship design and aesthetics. The people who design them, are they Borg?

Apparently these are all do to forerunner technology now being incorporated into the mix.

> I am caught between “Eww” and “Awesome”. I really think the armors are being rushed.

I agree. Everything in the cover looks great except the armor. Looks too robotic.

There isn’t any transition between Mark VI and Mark VII. It goes from the Armor we know then instantly switch’s to this futuristic Dead space Rig armor. The Lack of Transition upsets me more than the actual looks.

The Armor looks like Mark V or a variant of that armor class with Mark V-B Helment.

Can’t wait to read this, I enjoyed Glasslands and even the Gears of War Novels by Karen Traviss. Additionally can’t wait to find out what happens to the other Spartans and Dr. Halsey.

The only thing that bugs me about the armor is the helmet. Rest of the suit looks pretty good to me.

The cover all in all looks great for me. I like the Infinity in the background along with the other ships. The colors work well, too.

I’m glad that they didn’t introduce the Four’s Light Armor (seen in ‘‘Halo 4’’) just yet. Nice to see at least a bit more consistency given the large number of kit developed for the Mark V and Mark VI armor sets. Its just a few months after the Winter Armistice, I don’t expect ONI to introduce yet another armor variant. We already had John introduced to Mark V and Mark VI within a couple months, with Naomi getting Mark VII shortly after that.

But then again, this may just be an early draft of the cover. In any case though…

VIVA LA MARK V!

It looks like noble six armor and operator helment with red light attachment. But it could be the Grd helment.

The thing Main deal with Mark V was shielding and the ability to hold an AI Mark IV had already been in use for like 20 years. After they got the shielding they were able to make better armors as Mark VI is a full upgrade not just 2 main enhancements. We have yet to see any major modifications with Mark VII but the armor better be damn good.

The cover is final they never show us drafts for book covers they just say it isn’t final so we don’t rage.

I just hope the Mark VII suit has the simplistic beauty as the VI with the functionality we saw a lot of in the V, with a bit of the Upgrade VI John will be sporting in Halo 4.

The Cole Protocol cover changed quite a bit, mainly small details in the armor and background, with a change in weapon. Otherwise, I don’t think there’s much to rage about. The armor isn’t breaking any canon and for the title’s reference, the cover displays it in a reasonable way.

Would have been nice to see them have a portrait of Osman and Parangosky with the ships in the background though, especially the Director as she’s been faceless for six years now. Though I guess we may get a glimpse of her wrinkly -Yoink- in Halo 4, so I’m not going to complain.

Meh, they are integrating the forerunner feel into armor so it isn’t going to be like that.

Rage just in general; right now some like the armor some don’t but it doesn’t matter since we can’t change it.

Parangosky just retired though right?

> Parangosky just retired though right?

I’d imagine that it’s only weeks or a couple months at the most since the end of Glasslands. I don’t think Parangosky would leave her post until she was incredibly ill, some sort of miracle happened, or by the grace of God, a bullet was put into her skull.
