The thing about work/life balance is you have to actually work

Halo 3 also didn’t have major dysync issues on perfect conditions unlike infinite

Well maybe that’s why I believe Infinite has more content. It took me 19 more hours to beat the game playing it at a casual pace.

Lots more content for ME.

Yeah because it used an inferior network balancing which meant host always won the battle in desync like issues.

So actually desync is preferable to that considering I never had host. Bloodshot central.

No desync is preferable to both, obviously.

Oh heck no you’re aren’t trying to justify dysync

It makes the games feel glitchy and broken it legit makes people quit the game

I barely experience it, had it in a handful of games.

Had bloodshots in 95% of Halo 3 games.

Well lucky you

Wait until you get a streak of games of it once it starts like how a lot of us did and lets see how preferable it is

Especially in a ranked playlist

Not sure I will get it regularly, have the best internet available in my country.

If I played Halo 3 on this internet then I’d likely not have experienced bloodshots as regularly either.

Both issues seem to be directly related to a person’s own internet.

I doubt you’re internet is that good if you were never host in halo 3 also the dysync issues isn’t on people’s internet its on the game"s netcode

That’s because I lived with my parents 15 years ago.

I have my own house with the fastest internet available now.

Nah it is directly related to a person’s internet.

And?

I doubt you would’ve been getting constant issues with halo 3 back then if you had decent internet

Also people with great internet also used to get tons of dysync it was a problem to the point where 343 had to announce that they are going to work on the dysync issues

Yeah I already said that bud.

Desync technically doesn’t involve personal internet that much, FYI. It’s a difference in gamestate calculation between server instance and client instance and the communication of changes between them, and subsequent process updates. Not so much if a person’s internet is good or not.

This was more likely due to a larger population of European players for Halo Infinite than the switch to dedicated servers.

Also based on the geofiltering/server selection threads, it looks like the population has dwindled in Europe to the point where people playing in Europe are still often getting put on U.S. servers.

At least the lag due to host connection in Halo 3 was usually consistent and once you figured out who had host, which usually wasn’t to difficult, you could adjust your shots.

The problem with desync in Halo Infinite is that it is completely random and comes and goes in the same match, making it impossible to compensate for.

The issue is people with internet that is acceptable for other games have issues with Infinite which is bad. They should be as good as other games with like for like.

You shouldn’t need the fastest internet in your country to avoid desync. An average internet should not experience desync in 95% of games.

That’s why desync needs a priority fix in Infinite and lots of people experiencing it.

I don’t get desync on US servers most the time. It’s spot on tbh dude.

I completely acknowledge there is an issue. I don’t think Infinite is the holy grail. It is plagued with issues and a content drought. I just also acknowledge Halo 3 had many issues itself. That’s my point.

I’m looking at both games at face value, no rose tinted glasses. Halo 3 is one of my favourite games of all time. I played 15,000+ games of it and played it almost every day for years.

I know I’m just saying don’t defend infinite’s bad connection issues because you have really good internet while also bashing halo 3’s connection issues because you had bad internet during the halo 3 days

It makes you look biased

Also a lot of us aren’t going to move just so we can get better internet because isps are stupid on who gets quick speeds

The game shouldn’t need top tier internet to enjoy its not a fighting game it shouldn’t be having these issues with the average internet connection

I agree.

I was.more.pointing out that having average internet for me was a huge problem back then as it is for people with average internet’s now.

Maybe wasn’t as bad in US but it sucked as a level 50 European player. Having to constantly battle against US host.

Oh if you were level 50 the issues were multiplied in halo 3 i agree with you on tgat one heck i tried to avoid getting skill 50 because i knew my search times and connections to matches would take a nose dive

Like imo the best skill range to go for was 35-43 as it was a sweetspot for variety in matches and balance

One thing that I have noticed that is really odd in Halo Infinite is that when I’m placed on servers with over 80 ping, the desync seems to go away. I don’t know if it is their “favor the shooter” thing or what but it’s messed up whatever it is.

But playing in Eastern U.S. I am usually under 80 ping and the desync is horrendous.
