The Theatre

I do not know if this is the very best place to put this but I think it is. Theatre has been a central part of Halo ever since it was first introduced. It enabled for a great many things. Machinima, community interactions and even interactions with Bungie themselves. The controls and how everything worked was nearly perfect. In Halo 4, theatre took a turn for the worst. Instead of having a free camera you now just have free perspective, but you are still attached to the player. So if you got hurt in the game, red would flash on screen, the kill feed would still show up, and the announcer could be heard. This problem continued in Halo 5 with some new ones. Not showing the correct player, glitchy, often times switching perspectives on its own, it just wasn’t good. The machinima mode was definitely cool. It enabled directors to actually direct and capture things live. But now it’s like a real movie. If you want multiple scenes of a car exploding, you have to record that scene multiple times. You now also have a spartan that just stands there awkwardly and if it gets hurt, red flashes on screen. This has very many useful implications but I think a refined, working theatre mode (with access to campaign clips) is best for Halo.

343i has proved that they don’t understand Theater. Their failed attempt at accurate kill-cams in Halo 4 proved that, among the NUMEROUS glitches and failures that exist in the Theater modes.
