I was just wondering does anyone else think the DMRs’ five shot kill is more suitable for 8 vs 8s than say, the BRs’ four shot kill?
To me, the DMR feels more accurate (assuming you’re not spamming the trigger) than the BR. So personally, yes, I do think the 5SK is more suitable for BTB.
I think that the DMR needs to have more limitations if its going to stay in matchmaking playlists (other than SWAT). Its far too accurate and overpowered. You can rarely walk anywhere on Big Team Battle without being pelted with it, and being killed before you can do anything. And a Warthog? An armored combat vehicle? It gets torn up by DMR rounds. I personally think it’d be a lot nicer if it wasn’t so damaging.
I have to agree with A Sly Polarbear. Personally, I believe the DMR is cheap to fight against and way overpowered. It seems like the only way to win in a firefight with a DMR against the opposing player is to be the one to spot and shoot them first, where as with the BR, you actually had a chance to fight back. The BR fired in bursts, so you actually had to aim. Like the Polarbear said, I can’t step out of safety without being pelted by a barrage of DMR rounds which drops me within two seconds. Of course, this could be due to a lack of teamwork, since players tend to straggle away from the rest of the group. Despite this, the BR was much more fun to fight against and with.
I think part of the DMR’s advantage is its reticule. If it had a reticule more like a magnum i think that would make for a fair fight.
Good point. If it’s such a popular and overkill weapon, it should at least be more of a challenge to use, hence the magnum reticule idea.
If that doesn’t work there is always a rocket launcher reticule. Just for good measures. Lol.
It’d be like the Combat Evolved Scorpion turret all over again.

I cannot believe you are complaining about the DMR for something other than it’s bloom. This entire thread is actually pretty amusing lol. It’s an overkill weapon because it’s a staple weapon like the BR in Halo 3. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
Adapt to it or move on lol…

I’m with Luck. It also seems like you have more of a chance against a BR than a DMR. Maybe that’s just me. And we’re not talking about the reticule bloom but the reticule itself. The magnum reticule is a circle with 4 lines on the edges. the DMR is a circle with an even smaller circle inside, which makes it easier to aim more accurately.
