It doesn’t play like the Halo: Reach grenade launcher. It can’t bank off walls or kill enemies on the run, it’s a trap weapon. You must sit and wait. I can see someone waiting an entire game to have someone come along to meet someone’s trap. Yes, it has a radar but if you die then the detonator is gone and so is the explosive (I need this this to be clarified: does the explosive blow up/disappear or remain with the radar if the user dies and loses the weapon?)
I think that it is ridiculous that 343i would decide to stay with the DMR and the BR and then say that the SD and GL are too similar to be in the same game.
So on behalf of the fans of the only magnificent thing to be spawned from Reach, please 343i reconsider.
How many bombs can you get regularly at any one time? How many kills are you hoping you can get from just using that? Because the shotgun can easily match twice that number in pretty much every other Halo game.
The grenade stays where its placed until it is either detonated or explodes by another means. this means if the player that shot the grenade dies, the grenade will still be there and whoever picks up the detonator next will be able to blow it up.

Actually theres an even number of fans who want it gone and who want it back personnally I don’t care because I wouldn’t be using it, but I see no problem with it being in the game.
Why is it that people keep complaining about the SD, just because it doesn’t bounce grenades doesn’t mean its less applicable. Sure it will be a trapping weapon, but it could also be an assualt or flanking tool.
Wait until the game comes out then complain about the weapons.

How is there an even number? For a start, in every single thread with a poll, hell, even WITHOUT a poll, it’s been obvious the majority of forumgoers, voters and commenters want the GL back. Don’t defend his crappy point, he said he speaks on behalf of the fans, when no one does, you speak on behalf of yourself and possibly others who share your view but not everyone. His point isn’t what competitive or even casual players want, if the forum is anything to go by, so there is no reason to listen to his point.
GL is unique and different to SD, and vastly better, deserves to be there.
They brought the BR back for the fans. Besides the DMR and BR fill different roles and preform better in different ranges. They are different enough. and regardless of how many fans want the GL back compared to the amount that want the BR is far less.
there are plenty of things to counter a camper already. and just about any power weapon is better. Its going to be very situational just like the GL.
heck if anything halo 4 is a testing ground. If it doesn’t go over well they could possibly bring it back in 5 or 6.

Not every halo fan is on these forums so saying that everyone wants it back is inaccurate.
Also you can’t say that theGL is vastly better then the SD until you actually use the SD.

I know not every Halo fan is on these forums, that’s why I specifically said the majority of forumgoers, voters and commenters who have been vocal about the issue on this SITE want the GL back, I used 3 words to specify and you didn’t interpret that correctly. Kindly read that a bit more carefully before putting words in my mouth. Perhaps I was harsh on not listenting to his point, I merely meant to dismiss the notion that he speaks on behalf of the forum majority. Whenever someone else says they speak on behalf of many regarding some kind of competitive feature they get jumped on for it.
I’ve seen the SD, it’s very clearly a C4 style weapon, not as versatile as GL. We can judge very accurately without touching the game, the same way you probably know you will prefer the BR/DMR/Carbine to a certain weapon. Plus I loved the GL, it clearly works differently, I can’t bounce the SD projectiles etc there are many practical reasons justifying it’s return.

All what i said is true, just because it is timed doesn’t mean it can’t be picked up by someone after it is dropped and be detonated, i didn’t realise it was timed and is most likely a long countdown, possibly about 30 - 60 seconds, which is long enough for someone to pick it up and detonate.
