In the e3 2012 trailer master chief is shown with soldiers obviously of human orgin.
Do you think these are marines or the spartan-4s? Also, what do you think the situation will be upon chief’s awakening?
At least one of the two soldiers appears to be a spartan. Gameinformer said that chief awakens during a covenant attack, after which he gets pulled into requiem.

Did one of the soldiers helmets seem like the mark v (b variant)?

Maybe, one looked like he was wearing an ODST helmet with the visor turned off… if i am thinking of the right picture, anyway.

Cortana wakes the Chief because she detects intruders on board the ship. After investigating he discovers the Covenant and a fight ensues. It’s unknown what exactly happens next but I would assume the Dawn and Covenant ships are then pulled inside by Requiem. Eventually the UNSC Infinity will end up near Requiem somehow, (possibly by detecting Cortana’s distress signal), and then will end up being pulled inside as well. The Chief will end up fighting side by side Marines and Spartan IVs.
What I want to know is what happens to the Chief after Halo 4? We know the Infinity remains, (or returns), around Requiem at least 6 months later and continues Spartan Operations on the planet. So where is the Master Chief during this time? Is he on board the Infinity giving orders to the Spartan IVs or is he somewhere else?

I think the Infinity will become a base of operations for the UNSC on Requiem.

They never really would have left the Covenant. They just splintered off and stopped being led by the Prophets. The Covenant is a religious order and as long as there are still believers the Covenant would continue to exist.

There is no covenant, but a new alliance that is just made up of the same species as the covenant was. Not all of the elites rejoined, only certain factions did.
The Infinity will clearly play a large roll in Halo from now on. What I’m curious about is when or the Infinity will get off of Requiem…?
I wonder if the Arbiter is dead.
He appeared to have rejected worship of the Forunners.
