This ability out of all of them is a turn off. I think that it removes skill from the game in a big way and seems very contradictory to the general theme that guys like Bravo seem to be pushing this time around.
I think it just makes room for mistakes to happen on the players part without consequence. I don’t like it when the Game makes things automatic. If a player can jump and stay accurate that is a good thing. But when the game takes control and basically does it for you. That’s not fun and it’s hard to respect getting killed that way when you know the Game is floating the player so he can shoot you practically uninterrupted. It removes dynamics that add to the skill curve. Such as map utilization, making strategic moves irrelevant. If I was to use this ability it would NOT be to aim and shoot at some one. It would be to avoid grenades. I don’t think floating in the air and shooting would ever be a realistic move 95% of the time in my opinion, making this feature that much more irrelevant.
Well, that’s my feed back. Of course I’m really excited about Halo 5. The Multiplayer this time around looks amazing and very competitive, which is my favorite part. I personally would push to have as much of the floating, ground pound, shoulder charge stuff to be in a “Regular Team Slayer” kind of enviroment along with the announcer that makes all the call outs and showing the Power Weapon spawns. For the Competitive “Slayer Pro” arena these things would not serve the same purpose, in my opinion.
