Why the hell would you remove the ONLY DLC playlist in the game?!
343, you already screwed us all off by removing the only playlists in the game where we could find our purchased DLC content. Ever since Halo CEA came out, I haven’t been able to find a single Noble/Defiant DLC map in ANY playlist.
And then I go to Black Ops, and guess what? Black Ops still has its DLC MOSHPIT and DLC HARDCORE playlists enabled for all players!. Call of Duty players have always been able to enjoy their DLC maps ever since the first map pack came out in february, and you guys at 343 want to put THE ONLY DLC playlist available in a “probationary status”?!
Are you effing kidding me?! There should ALWAYS be a DLC playlist availbale for all players. It’s something you shouldn’t be “negotiating” with the community. So what if not many people play it? SO BE IT. Let those who purchased the DLC maps enjoy them AT ALL TIMES.

If this Squad DLC playlist gets removed and not replaced by any other DLC playlist, I’ll be very, very disappointed in you 343.
The Bulletin explained clearly why Premium was removed and why Squad DLC is being readded only on a probationary basis.
> And then I go to Black Ops
I agree that there should always be a DLC playlist, but you can’t compare Reach to Black Ops simply because BO has a higher pop (because it didn’t alienate most of its core fanbase). Reach also has a limit on how many playlists can exist at one time – whereas we don’t know if BO has the same – and so 343 can’t afford to keep very-very-low-pop playlists around.

If there’s anything else that you feel compelled to scream and whine about despite it having been very clearly and unambiguously explained, I’d advise crying into your pillow instead of these forums.
Even though I make a valid point, supporting each and every player out there who spent money to buy the Reach DLC Map Packs in order to get a playlist to play them, I still get hated on. Wow.
So I guess you’re saying the population should ALWAYS be the decisive factor in order for a playlist to stay, right? Screw everyone who bought the maps, right?
At the very least Black Ops kept its DLC playlist no matter how many or few people played it, and I never saw Treyarch threatening their community about removing it if “not many people played it”.
Most people have played the 1st 2 maps packs enough already and have either moved on to anniversary or just play normally and would like the maps to come up more often instead of trying to get games in a playlist that I saw with less than 100 players on more than 1 occasion. 5 min search times just to get red bar, no thanks.
> Even though I make a valid point, supporting each and every player out there who spent money to buy the Reach DLC Map Packs in order to get a playlist to play them, I still get hated on. Wow.
I’m not hating on your point. I’m hating on the manner in which you made that point. Hostility and anger beget hostility and anger. If you want people to treat you with respect, start showing it.
> So I guess you’re saying the population should ALWAYS be the decisive factor in order for a playlist to stay, right? Screw everyone who bought the maps, right?
> I agree that there should always be a DLC playlist
But perhaps I should clarify that: There should always be DLC playlists, but unfortunately, not everything that should be, can be. There are other limits that 343i has to consider, and no amount of immature ranting on your part will change that.
> Most people have played the 1st 2 maps packs enough already and have either moved on to anniversary or just play normally
So there shouldn’t be a DLC playlist because “most people” have had enough of something they spent money on to have forever? After a mere year? And that only goes for the Noble Map Pack. The Defiant Map Pack has been out for mere months.
“Most people” never even purchased any DLC Map Pack. Do you really think the majority of randoms out there spent money to get the DLC? No. Those who did purchase the maps should always be able to play with the DLC they payed for.
> …would like the maps to come up more often instead of trying to get games in a playlist that I saw with less than 100 players on more than 1 occasion.
343 can always try to match players with DLC in ANY playlist. That’s not a valid excuse to remove the DLC playlist all together.
You know there’s always people out there who don’t have much time to play and would like to spend it on their purchased DLC maps ASAP, instead of having to wait for the system to match other players with DLC.
> …5 min search times just to get red bar, no thanks.

> Reach has too many playlists.
Your connection isn’t that good then. I never experienced said problems, and the Premium Slayer playlist always matched me faster than any other playlist out there.
And yes, Reach has many playlists. Less playlists than Black Ops and less population. That’s no excuse either.
> not everything that should be, can be. There are other limits that 343i has to consider, and no amount of immature ranting on your part will change that.
At the very least I try to defend a valid point. You’re not going to get anywhere with that depressive and submissive attitude.
So WE should stick to whatever 343 dictates, even though it screws us from playing what we paid for? LOL That’s a great way to promote a game they didn’t even make.
There’s a reason I posted very clearly in the OP that I moved on to Black Ops.

I was explaining why the population was so low. Defiant has been out for a long long time. Anniversary has even been out for months now.
Obviously there wernt enough people out there wanting to play the dlc.
My connection is fine. 5 Min search times and red bar is due to the fact it had less than 100 people in it.
BS it matched faster than any playlist, it had less than 100 people its impossible when TS and infection can have 5000+
It’s not a matter of being “submissive”. It’s a matter of being mature enough to understand that a company charged with handing another studio’s failing game might not be able to do everything that they ought to.

Then what’re you even doing on these forums, mate? I mean, aside from acting entitled and butthurt.

Nope. Premium Slayer held a solid 500+ playerbase. I can tell you this because I played more than 780 matches in it.
I could find a match faster in that 5v5 playlist than in many other playlists, and I never searched with a party.

343 should catter to those who cared enough to purchase the DLC maps. That is all. A single, stable and permanent playlist. That is all I’m asking.
I’m pretty sure I won’t be the last one to request this. Specially if the Squad DLC playlist gets removed eventually.
I agree with OP. I wasn’t too pleased with the little threat 343 gave us. It’s kinda -Yoink- if you ask me. I payed for these maps and I pretty much get my purchase taken away simply because not enough people play the DLC. Utter BS.

I agree I bought all the Map packs on 12/27/2011 and i was about to play premium battles but there was no playlist for it because i never checked cause i didn’t use to have the maps but thankfully Squad DLC slayer saved me from breaking my foot.
Yah I am very glad that the DLC required playlist is coming back. In the past two months or so, I have played about 2, maybe 3 DLC maps. I finally got to play Tempest for the first time on Saturday. It is a pretty good map and a nice change from all the other ones. But that’s the thing, I have only gotten to play it once!
I will be trying out the Squad DLC. Let’s hope it sticks around.
Here’s a crazy idea (and by crazy, i mean common friggin sense):
Make certain playlist DLC required. (ESPECIALLY ONES THAT HAVE MAP SPECIFIC DLC ACHIEVEMENTS IN THEM)
That way, if you don’t have the maps, you don’t play that playlist. Halo 3 did this, worked fine. Not to mention the fact that it will probably increase downloads of mappacks.

Does anyone know if this playlist has objective? I sure the hell hope so, then I can actually get that Defiant Achievement where you keep the other team from touching your flag.
I don’t remember the bulletin saying that. But I could be wrong. I’m not sure if it will be just slayer or a mix of both. I may have to re-read that part.
