> Comparing Overwatch to Halo is like comparing oranges to apples. They have things in common but very different. The only thing they have in common is that both are shooters. That is where the similarities end. Doom is a fair comparison. But with Doom there is no sprint because you move lightening fast you are in effect sprinting all the time. Which I despise to be honest. Its like everybody is running around like a -Yoink!--head. Not fun at all.

Doesn’t matter how different they are. They’re both FPS’ and that makes Overwatch competition. Just the same as CoD is despite being very different.

I swear, sometimes the littlest thing that is not the biggest problem in Halo still is pressured and people aren’t gonna talk about Elites, Customization, Armor, REQs, Art style, and Characters? C’mon people we can handle and can adapt sprint into Halo, but what we need is all is what above me. That’s what Halo needs fix on, not sprint.

Yes, Halo is still popular game, MCC might be in the 30s due to matchmaking but at least it has good MP and remastered campaigns for a good price.

How on earth was it fine in Reach and Halo 4? It’s nowhere near perfect in Halo 5 as it should not even be in it. Reach started the trend and instead of 343i noticing the complaints and request of removing all the AAs, their tried to improve them and make something more. The biggest problem spring brought was map design and breaking the combat by applying an escape route in every fight. Now people say that your shields don’t recharge when you sprint. Yes, that is true, just run, hide and you’ll be fine.

The addictive component in Halo was that the better player almost always won (if the host or lag wasn’t unbearable). Now sprint and thruster give weaker players a chance. A good player doesn’t like the combat being broken or stopped every other fight or making a opponent weak and see him sprint away. And no need to tell me to get good and don’t miss shots. I’m good, was in Halo 3, Reach, 4 and 5.

According to this Overwatch stats site, people have collectively spent less than 7% of their time as Soldier (the guy who can sprint), which obviously means they’ve spent even less time actually sprinting at all. Your right Overwatch is new, so we’ll see how it lasts, but being in the top 10 for so long for a MP only game is pretty significant, as are the sales.

Dooms fast paced gameplay was praised. The fact that the MP was -Yoinked!- up (exactly because they tried to “modernize” it) doesn’t detract from that fact.

Thank you someone with some sense. these things you listed are very important because Elites add new customization options and more options for Machinima , making the spartan armor more halo like and better character development for new and old characters

> Doesn’t matter how different they are. They’re both FPS’ and that makes Overwatch competition. Just the same as CoD is despite being very different.

You make seem like people can only play just one game. When in fact lots of people spread their time across multiple games me included. Do you think I spend all of my play time playing Halo? I play COD, I play BF, plants vs zombies:Garden Warfare, Destiny, TitanFall etc . Because they are all fun. It not uncommon for me to play 3 or 4 shooters in a given evening. But in the case of Overwatch, I think because it is so different and that Blizzard made it, people are jumping on so they can be part of the next big thing. That’s all. Its not to say its a bad game. I find it mediocre at best for a whole host of reasons I won’t get into. But as far as sprint not being it . I highly doubt, HIGHLY doubt anybody was saying, “you know what, I’m going to buy overwatch because it doesn’t have sprint, yeah that’s the deciding factor”. Dude nobody is thinking like that . Go to another gaming site besides here and see conversations about Overwatch . you will not see one comment from somebody that says “Yeah I love Overwatch because I can’t sprint”. NOBODY IS SAYING THESE THINGS. This site is the only one I think in existence where players fiercely debate it.

We’d rather start by fixing the problem that has the most negative effects on the gameplay.

>

Isn’t it the gameplay that makes up the multiplayer, or are you just talking about campaign?

First of all, read before criticizing.

Games changes, we need to adapt, Halo 5 it´s great, I have of fun, but the back days ended. I´m not in love as Halo 2, Halo 3.
No team Slayer br.
No Mlg play list.
No veto.

JUST ONE or TWO br´s in the map.
I know the games are made to make money not to satisfy fans. After all it´s a business.

I dare to say that half of poblation of H3, Halo Reach, quit HALO.

We want competitive games, we don´t like sprint (people run and hide, before H5, they fight 1 vs 1 with Br, not hiding, not jumping and running with AR, PLASMA RIFFLE)
I´m not saying I´m a pro, just I´m saying this game it´s like COD, BORDERLANDS, ETC.)

The essence of halo has died.

We miss Final boss, Instict, Carbon, etc…

All days gone.

=)

I´m sure that 90% of comments will be against me, but look back days, the emotion to get a 50, THE EMOTION TO 4 SHOT ENEMIES, TO OUT BR ENEMIES. Those emotions lost. .

If you want to take out something negative, just take out Spartan charge since everyone hates it.

Spartan Charge is a by product of sprint. Do you remember double melees?

What’s more ridiculous: you thinking I don’t think people can play multiple games or you thinking people are playing Overwatch because it’s popular and not because it’s fun? I having a hard time choosing which…

The entire point is that sprint isn’t necessary for a game to be fun and appeal to the masses. It doesn’t matter if people are talking about whether or not it has sprint. If anything that proves my point that people don’t care about sprint as much as 343 thinks.

If an “up to date” poll changes anything it’s only because so many anti-sprinters have left (people tend to do that when the devs don’t remove bad game changing mechanics).

The smaller the communtiy gets (as it’s now the smallest it’s ever been since before Halo 3) the more people within it that will like sprint because they’ll soon be the only ones left playing the game. Like I said, keeping a game changing mechanic that people don’t like will push them away. Players having been pushed away doesn’t exactly support your claim of pro-sprinters being the majority.

I think of BTB, which was supposed to be replaced by warzone until fans yelled at them to put it in the game. I think of firefight, which 343 specifically stated that if people wanted a PvE warzone enough, they’d put it in. I think of them removing ordnance and loadouts, which the community said made it feel too much like CoD. No they don’t make every single decision requested by the community, but community feedback is where a ton of their decisions come from.

Your right Overwatch is new, so we’ll see how it lasts, but being in the top 10 for so long for a MP only game is pretty significant, as are the sales.

> Isn’t it the gameplay that makes up the multiplayer, or are you just talking about campaign?

Gameplay as in player mechanics. The MP was screwed up by loadouts and demons, not because of what they player can or can’t do.

That doesn’t fix sprints problems.
