But since the maps are made larger to justify the faster speed, it’s not really helpiby with traversal anymore than previous games.

Pace of gamplay: Quite a large part map design and other things, very very small part sprint, increased base movement speed would also accomplish this, if not even better.
Finding players: Map design
Finding weapons: Map design

Map designers decide how long it’ll take you to get from somewhere, to somewhere at fastest time possible at default speed.

Maps are built for that faster speed. If anything, all of that is taking longer because without sprinting the map is too large.

Getting to a power weapon on Midship in Halo 2 takes almost the exact same time as it would on Truth while sprinting the entire time. If you stop sprinting even for a second and then continue sprinting again and it officially takes longer than past games, which is a problem since you don’t sprint every second of the game, which means things are slower paced than in previous games without sprint.

  1. You can’t believe wrong.
  2. How have they been proven wrong? The only way to test it would be to make a game with no sprint but have the same campaign and gamemodes.

1 mechanic doesn’t make it a cookie cutter product.

No it doesn’t, then again, sprint isn’t the only “popular” mechanic around…
But that’s the mentality you more or less said 343 had.

> 343 believes it needs to be in the game to compete with other FPSs

As with Halo 4, they’re using the cookie cutter mentality.

Its 2016! There isn’t a wrong or right answer about sprint, it’s a matter of preference. But why are we not given at a minimum, a playlist that offers a classic Halo feel? This would satisfy the Halo community that wants it removed and would be refreshing for everyone to try from time to time. If there is grifball and infection, they can make a classic playlist. I think 343 might be too arrogant honestly to try a non sprint option. Its sad.

Funny, this has been explained so many times but what’s that? You want to move faster on the map and that’s why you like sprint? It’s like explaining it to a brick wall…

I don’t think that removing sprint from Halo 5 would help, at least not with the maps we have right now. There should be a separate playlist with forge maps, no Spartan abilities, 25m radar, 110% movement speed and lower gravity for higher jumps. Of course you can’t affect the TTK that I think should be lower (or longer, that’s what I mean, not the 0.8-1.2s we have now) for a optimal Halo game.

If you stop sprinting even for a second and then continue sprinting again and it officially takes longer than past games, which is a problem since you don’t sprint every second of the game, which means things are slower paced than in previous games without sprint.

Of course you can’t affect the TTK that I think should be lower for a optimal Halo game.

More health lengthens TTK, which is what MLG did with H3. They could do the same here by adding 10-20% health and increasing player speed by the same amount, making it easier to get around maps and harder to hit head shots.

2 mechanics don’t make it a cookie cutter product (sprint and ADS). I agree with halo 4 being a cookie cutter, but not halo 5.

THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! But I won’t hold my breath waiting for it. I have more or less been making the same suggestion for months now. I have even created threads for that single suggestion, Mine was different in that They could even make the H2 BR a starting weapons with the CE pistol a power weapon pickup. But even this people will complain about .

> 1. You can’t believe wrong.
> 2. How have they been proven wrong? The only way to test it would be to make a game with no sprint but have the same campaign and gamemodes.

Overwatch, a game in which only one character can sprint (and is used less than 7% of the time), is consistently in the top 10 and sold pretty damn well which shows that sprint is not nearly as important to people as they think. And Dooms gameplay was praised by most and it obviously lacks sprint.

They think sprint is needed to keep up with the competition, but one of its biggest competitors is played largely by people who don’t even mind not sprinting. So why can that not be the case with Halo?

First of all, read before criticizing.

Games changes, we need to adapt, Halo 5 it´s great, I have of fun, but the back days ended. I´m not in love as Halo 2, Halo 3.
No team Slayer br.
No Mlg play list.
No veto.

JUST ONE or TWO br´s in the map.
I know the games are made to make money not to satisfy fans. After all it´s a business.

I dare to say that half of poblation of H3, Halo Reach, quit HALO.

We want competitive games, we don´t like sprint (people run and hide, before H5, they fight 1 vs 1 with Br, not hiding, not jumping and running with AR, PLASMA RIFFLE)
I´m not saying I´m a pro, just I´m saying this game it´s like COD, BORDERLANDS, ETC.)

The essence of halo has died.

We miss Final boss, Instict, Carbon, etc…

All days gone.

=)

If you stop sprinting even for a second and then continue sprinting again and it officially takes longer than past games, which is a problem since you don’t sprint every second of the game, which means things are slower paced than in previous games without sprint.
> >

> >
> > I don’t think that removing sprint from Halo 5 would help, at least not with the maps we have right now. There should be a separate playlist with forge maps, no Spartan abilities, 25m radar, 110% movement speed and lower gravity for higher jumps.
>
>

You don’t increase both player health and player speed. That doesn’t make any sense. The faster you are, the harder it is for you to get hit, which makes kill times longer which makes things slower paced. That’s why you lower the TTK to counter that in order to keep the gameplay fast paced.

>

Comparing Overwatch to Halo is like comparing oranges to apples. They have things in common but very different. The only thing they have in common is that both are shooters. That is where the similarities end. Doom is a fair comparison. But with Doom there is no sprint because you move lightening fast you are in effect sprinting all the time. Which I despise to be honest. Its like everybody is running around like a -Yoink!--head. Not fun at all.

it was fine in reach it was fine in H4 and it is Perfect in H5 people like you could be focusing on other more important problems like REQs which is a big problem and need people pushing to ether get a new system of reform it but no you are going to whine about what is not going to change

For many of us, sprint is the most pressing issue facing the Halo series.

That’s very important. Sprint hardly determines the way you play, the map design is s big part of ihat and if there’s no sprint, the maps will be adjusted accordingly.

Like I said, keeping a game changing mechanic that people don’t like will push them away. Players having been pushed away doesn’t exactly support your claim of pro-sprinters being the majority.

I think of BTB, which was supposed to be replaced by warzone until fans yelled at them to put it in the game. I think of firefight, which 343 specifically stated that if people wanted a PvE warzone enough, they’d put it in. I think of them removing ordnance and loadouts, which the community said made it feel too much like CoD. No they don’t make every single decision requested by the community, but community feedback is where a ton of their decisions come from.

Is it confirmed that people use sprint less than 7% of the time? Also, overwatch is fairly new, so I’m not surprised that it’s in the top 10.

As for Doom, if it was so good, it wouldn’t be on the third page, being beat by the mcc, Titanfall, and CoD AW.
