Trying to teach Waypoint the difference between faster movement and faster gameplay is like talking to a brickwall.

Yeah it has now since things have been changing since Reach so has sprint.

Now you just snipe people with a crappy battle rifle. I’m sorry, but that isn’t halo to me. People who prefer battle rifle play aren’t very good at any other aspect of the game.

wow I majority does not want sprint but at least balanced it to travel but not in combat.
I think that would be the worst idea in my opinion. Think about it. if they made the maps they make in warzone and you didn’t have sprint… Lets just say people wouldn’t be happy. lol!

Even if we did base speed which is gonna be more op than sprint, it will never happen.
I have played a lot of Halos on XBL over the years and none of them have felt as good as Halo 3 did,
Dont get me wrong im playing Halo 5 every time i get on xbl just saying i liked Halo 3 so much more …

Yeah, By tour post, I think what people really want is a classic Halo 3 or Halo 2 gameplay after all should be a playlist or vets and anti sprint community. We both have two playlists one for classic, and one for “modern” Halo.

So true. I don’t know what it is about that game but it just worked. It was absolutely amazing in almost every aspect. Even with some of the shot registration, host booting and dozens of other problems, it is still, by a long shot, the greatest video game I’ve ever played. Not even best Halo but the best video game. Even to this day when I play it I just love everything about it. The art, the movement, the ranking system, the playlists, the map designs, the pace of the games, the weapons and how they handled, looked, sounded. Even down to the way the grenade physics and how frags bounced was perfect. Call me a fan boy all you want but I think if 343 can try and emulate H3 as much as possible without making the same game then they’ll have won in my eyes.
As for sprint, I personally don’t care for it. For the sake of satisfying those who do like the spartan abilities, I’d say keep clamber, ground pound, and MAYBE thrust and call it good. But yeah I definitely personally think the older gameplay style is what made Halo unique and great. It’s about not putting yourself in a bad position (something I focused on heavily to get better at H3). If you did you payed for it. Having a solid shot was only have the battle, the other half of being good at the older games was positioning and setting yourself up at key spots in the maps at the right time. Idk how to explain it clearly but, for some reason, I feel like Halo has lost that.

> When did sprint become such a big deal anyway? Am I the only one who doesn’t care?
Ever since Bungie introduced it in Halo reach in 2010. Don’t get me wrong, Reach had other problems too (AAs, bloom, weird ranking system), but sprint brought a weird disconnect to Halo mp that hadn’t been there before, it removed movement from combat. At least the maps were ok, but even then forge remakes of halo 2/3 maps were stretched to accommodate sprint, and that has been the case for the past 6 years.
Also clamber and thruster have contributed to this change in the way that combat worked so well in Halo. Example, I could make all of the jumps in previous Halo even sideways while still engaging in combat. Now, I have to turn, face my jump, maybe even sprint or use thrusters and then clamber up to the place, all this removing me from combat.

It’s not really an assumption. Just compare the likes that the OP has (which is less than the number of pages) compared to the first couple posts about keeping sprint.

That was a year and a half ago. Find/make one that’s up to date.

> Halo 6 could be the game EVERYONE wants by removing sprint in campaign (yes because who the -Yoink- needs TWO movement speeds in campaign???) and
> arena multiplayer at first I thought a no sprint playlist might be optimal but hear me out. I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitve halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!
> Thoughts? :3
I think you are putting words in my mouth, are wrong, should read the books, and I want spartans that can run like NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS instead of being walking slabs of stupid.
Also the bold text, who do you think you are? Lots and lots of people like sprint, and arguing it has a place is considering how popular the HCS is up to them.If you want halo 3, go play it.

This is unbelievable how are you guys still debating/crying about this subject? Clearly some of you guys are complete losers.
There’s people that have put in a lot of work into making all the abilities/ sprint work. It’s completely disrespectful for you guys to discredit their work because you don’t like it. I would understand if the game was broken but the reality is that it works and it’s arguably the most balanced game.
Stop with the comparisons to older titles sales/ population and whatever nonsense you come up with to make your silly argument valid. Mainly because it’s mostly nonsense and in reality it’s just your opinion.
The majority of players don’t go to waypoint/reddit to cry about the game. They just simply play the game. It’s the hardcore fans who mostly use these types of sites to communicate with other players and it’s mostly a small percentage who are actually crying about the game.
In other words you complaining about the abilities/sprint are the minority. Zero, Ramirez , wartime you guys need to step outside your mothers basement. Its ridiculous the amount of time you guys spend on these forums.
well what if they kept sprint in warzone but took it out of arena? i mean most arena maps are pretty small as is…and they seem to designed more for clamber than anything else…NO THRUSTER PACK IN ANYTHYING!!!..i feel like that would be ok

it does grow tiresome…having to repeat the same thing over and over and over again because certain people seemingly dont even read what other people are writing…so im not gonna bother arguing points because you wont hear them…so ill just say if you enjoy the new direction of halo 5 then great good for you i wish you the best…have fun
