The original Halos didn’t have a unique movement system compared to the other fps of the time because most of them had the same three options of crouching, walking, and jumping. What Halo did have and still has to this day that’s unique are rechargeable shields, cool alien weapons and vehicles. The biggest reason that Halo hasn’t done so well in recent years is because Bungie left and now everyone is butt hurt and saying that 343 sucks. Sprint is a fun mechanic that most people enjoy and don’t want to see it go, and for those people that don’t like how the maps are designed for sprint jumps and whatever other reasons they pull out of their @$$, I have a secret for you! There’s this wonderful tool called FORGE where you can MAKE YOUR OWN MAPS!

However, it features multiple different heroes, with movement being a key difference between each hero. Nobody starts equal, and the game has not been fully balanced yet. It plays nothing like a traditional shooter.

And we’ve progressed past OPs statements. He gave no real argument. This thread has spawned its own arguments on both sides and Overwatch/Doom proves one of them wrong. It’s not the be all end all of the sprint debate, just part of it.

You have a bad habit of assuming your opinions are facts.

Yes, it’s because Bungie left and not because of anything that 343 did to cause the games to flop. You can’t be serious. If the mass population loved 343’s decisions, I’d bet the recent Halos would’ve been a lot more successful and thriving.

“Go make your own maps.” Another great pro sprint argument /s. I’m sure people will make their own maps, but that doesn’t solve the problems that sprint creates in the default game.

It should say something when you have less likes on the OP than pages.

Lol

Whew is the OP anyway? What is his result of his or hers around 1,000 replied forum.

It really isn’t, since I don’t sprint at all in some game modes, such as swat or infection, and I don’t find it ‘punishing’ to walk instead of sprinting.

They are stretched. You’re just not playing properly.

Have your cake and eat it two lately guys?
People here complain sprint was added to be like other games.
Then they flip it and use the lack of sprint comparison to DOOM, Overwatch, and CS:GO.
First of all DOOM’s base movement speed runs circles around Halo 5’s sprinting speed and It’s MP is full of shotgun chargers who zip past opponents then shoot them in the back of the head. Also it’s worth noting that Certain Affinity got dropped from managing DOOM’s MP since it’s the weakest part of that game.
Secondly Overwatch is a class based FPS so using is as an comparative example is throwing out the baby to get the bath water.
Finally CS:GO is sustained by a community that only wants to play on one map. They also completely overreact to any small change to their game at a preposterous level.

The dude just said that he doesn’t sprint in some game modes with no problems and you told him he’s playing it wrong because the maps are too big for not sprinting.

Hold up , we can’t take Spartan Charge off thats crazy too! Think about this !!! Our beloved Halo has evolved so to where we can slide , SC, climb walls . Its opened a whole new world of dinamic movement never seen before almost touching the melee spectrum.!!! &/ maby … . But let me say lets evolve together not apart.

Why does this have more likes than the thought out and lengthy arguments against sprint? (208 last time I checked).

Yes. Thanks for recapping…

Taking off the sprint button is the most obviously ridiculous idea these forums have ever produced. Who ever came up with idea should go play a different game. Also removing the Spartan charge is counter productive if your game does not evolve it dies out the Spartan charge was and remains a great addition to the offensive strategy if you want to add something add a new defensive tactic perhaps a counter button. There I did not just hate on an idea I offered an alternative for progression not regression which a game should never have…

He pays for it no matter what because it is an asset that every player except him chooses to have.

i get sick and tired when ever somebody complains about sprint in halo 5 if you don’t like it don’t use it okay those breakable entrances can be destroyed by explosives there i put my two cents in

Hahahaha !!! Yes Striker ^^^^ you got it !

Yes. Recapping how stupid you are for telling someone they’re playing the game wrong by not sprinting when you’re trying to argue that sprint needs to go.
