Agreed, spartan charge is not necessary in my opinion. Sprint should stay though, because some people use it still, and in addition spartan charge is just an upgraded thruster pack. Bring back playable elites in mp, longswords, grenade launchers, needle rifle, plasma repeater, scarabs, brutes, flood, seraph, spiker, flame bombs, shadow, revenant, spectre, wolverine, locust, cobra, hawk, falcon, vulture, vampire, elephant, and everything from Bungie’s and Ensemble’s Halo games, that is what made Halo entertaining in my opinion.

I’m all for it especially that the spartan abilities are satisfactory in keeping the game relevent while not affecting competitiveness much (I do not believe sprint reduces competitiveness, I think it changes the competitive flow Halo vets are used to). I would also like to see clamber removed and I bet someone wants another ability removed, that definitely does not mean it should be removed. So in the end, if Halo 6 is as balanced as Halo 5 I don’t mind either way.

I agree. the way to make halo better is to add more variety, not take good features away.
The way to make everyone happy is to have playlists with different play styles. classic, new/evolved etc.

Ah ok. I’ll steer clear of this then.

Personally I would say movement should be a key pillar of Halo’s core gameplay. I mean, tons of past elements of game have either created a lopsided triangle or made a line of sorts. Either way, I don’t see this core as being something universally accepted by the Halo community

As someone who has been playing halo for 14 years I definitely don’t think sprint is a problem. Halo 5 has really fluid and satisfying movement. I think it would be cool to have a classic playlist with no sprint or other spartan abilities but sprint should be here to stay and I imagine that it is.

Pig king is so right , lets compromise $!!!

Expanding on this definition of Halo’s core, I’d say the gameplay centers around:

  • A trifecta of effective ways to deal damage (guns, grenades, and melee).
  • A union between combat and movement in which both can take place simultaneously, never detracting from one another but with the potential to enhance one another (grenade-jumping, for instance).
  • A layered shield/health system which provides an interesting dynamic with regards to type of weapon and shot placement (shield-strippers, precision weapons, etc.)

Like in Halo Reach the Anniversary DLC how in the multiplayer it’s just the classic multiplayer with new graphics, but you can still play Reach multiplayer in normalcy?

I guess. I wasn’t playing reach at that point in it’s life cycle.

I’m sure many people won’t accept it. If they did, it would mean admitting sprint is incompatible with Halos core. But those are the concepts that Halo was built of off and largely followed for the first three games (dual wielding being the exception, which Bungie admitted screwed with the triangle). Obviously the more recent games don’t build around the core, hence why they were not well recieved by fans.

Very well said.

What, make a thousand topics of Sprint.

Wow, just have to love how the anti-sprinters give detailed reasons for removal of sprint from Halo and what the pro-sprinters give you? Stop sprinting then!!1 Play something else!! I love sprint!! It’s just a video game (got to love this one :'D)!! I like to move faster!! Makes gameplay faster!!! Maps are great now!! Just joking, no one can say that last one…

Also, all the “vets” that say that not all of them are anti-sprint, if you played bad in the previous games and still play bad, your opinion is quite less significant than a person who played well back then and can still play well in Halo 5.

Yep. For 2 more years, until the next game comes out, if that’s what it takes.

I was very good at halo 3. I’m not as good at halo 5 but I still think it’s a better game. All of this whining means nothing. When halo 3 came out the forums were filled with nothing but complaining about how it was the worst game ever. It was endless threads about how the br spread was broken and people saying they were quitting halo. Now Halo 3 was the good old days. I GUARANTEE in 10 years people will talk about how halo 5 was the best game ever and say halo 8 is awful. Screencap this and repost this when halo 8 comes out. Sprint makes halo faster, what is bad about this? I can’t understand why people have a problem with sprint.

What’s bad about making Halo faster? Well, it kills the slower, less frantic pace that the series was known for. That’s what’s wrong with making it faster. Faster movement isn’t some universally “good” thing.

What are you talking about? Halo has always been known as a fast paced and sometimes chaotic game. relatively accurate hip firing has always been in halo and most other games don’t have this. This alone makes halo faster than games like COD or counter strike because you don’t have to stand still or slow down to aim accurately at a distance.

Why am I even bothered talking to a Kid who Hasn’t barely touched Halo 5

I gave it a fair chance. I played the beta. I played the full game when it came out. I don’t like it. It’s too far removed from Halo’s gameplay.

You guys see, still nothing, not one freaking argument to properly defend sprint, the main topic of this post. Just all about how we are nostalgic about a game and same old same old. And again!!! Sprint makes Halo faster!! :'D Have you read a whole list of extremely detailed posts people have made, that how spirit doesn’t add speed to the gameplay itself? Halo 3 had it flaws yes (I played 11k multiplayer matches, I know the flaws very well), but at least it didn’t have sprint, that generated a broken paced multiplayer. But I have to be honest, thrusters, clamber, Spartan charge and ground pound also contribute to this.

If they took what was right in Halo 2/3 and added to that, instead of striping the game to its bare bones, changed the pace of the game and the core combat system that was so addictive, you could have had something amazing.

Now people, start telling me to leave Halo and play something else. No need, I stopped playing Halo 5 months ago, so did a lot of my friends and their friends, you can see the numbers. Halo once was a system seller, now it’s just another game amongst others. These people defending Halo in its current state, their not fans, they’ll drop the game and the whole franchise in a heartbeat when something better comes along.

GuineaPigKing1, learn how to quote someone, now in your post it looks like I was talking about a slower gameplay… I had to double check that I didn’t write that stuff.
