no man, in h2 mlg youre always moving at h5s sprint speed.

it would be incorrect because h2 is faster than h1 and h3 is slower than h2.

[Someone kinda saved you the trouble of making a video on this one.
](H1 vs H2 vs H3 vs Halo Reach 100 unit run speed comparison - YouTube)CE-3 are the same speed, or at least very very very minute in difference. The reason it looks so much different than it is (like Halo 3 being slower), is because of the difference of FoV between each game, with Halo 3 being at an all time low.

Halo 5’s speed was modeled after the previous Halos, after the beta, the default BMS was increased while the delta between BMS and Sprint was decreased.
I’m not fussed about what you’re discussing. You brought up how you feel the base walk speeds are. That’s not a Speed of Gameplay thing by the way. And I entered asking you what I asked.

That’s not your video, like you’d said you do. - It’s not comparing the speed of movement, its biggest argument was the fact that you can multitask (i.e, shoot) while maintaining your full speed, whatever that speed is. - I agree with this video (and I’m pretty sure the one you’re responding to does too), but that doesn’t answer his question.

You have the MLG Halo 2 Options for show?
Looking forward to your video.
Also, could you provide the customs options used if I were to try to replicate your experiment?

I think that the old trilogy BMS is somewhere in between current walk speed and current sprint speed, maybe closer to walk speed. Sprint definitely feels faster, and from how fast we move around maps now, I believe it is measurably faster. The fact that sprint is so fast is what breaks gameplay, however.
> 2. Really? Halo 3 was the largest Halo game for multiplayer and one of its bestsellers. That’s well established fact. Look at Halo 4’s sales numbers and how fast the recurrent player base fell off. This wasn’t just due to sprint, but the low sales and low player retention after launch (again, also well established fact) notes a game performing significantly worse than Halo 3 or 2 (CE had no multiplayer so…). Halo 5 had even lower opening sales and a similar player base to 4, if I remember correctly, but no 343 game has come even close to rivaling Halo 3 (player statistics wise) period. Halo has, factually, statistically, been dropping off after Halo Reach. That is indisputable if you look at the numbers. There is zero argument to be had here. You did in fact make a false blanket statement. Sprint is by no means keeping Halo alive. While it may or may not be due to sprint’s introduction, it has been factually established that every Halo game with spartan abilities or sprint has marked a decline in Halo’s sales and population. They occurred at the same time; there is correlation. Causation? Maybe not. Correlation? Certainly.

You’re going to have to show me the blanket statement I did. Cause I asked questions.
So how can it be stated as a fact that Halo’s decline is due to sprint? If there’s nothing backing that statement up? As you say Correlation =/= causation.
What other things changed? Developers, lack of flood, artistic design.
I can replace “sprint” as a cause of decline with any of those and it holds just as much water if I can’t back my claim up.
To verify sprint as being the main culprit, you’d need to do a massive survey with players who quit at reach or 4.
Otherwise you’re just speculating.

1 settings used are competetive mlg settings at 110. Video shows youd still be 1 second behind in h5 even at 120 speed. The truth is right there.

Disagree with what? About Sprint’s influence in the game? Have you not seen my comments in this thread? You liked two of them like an hour ago.
But what Naqser asked had nothing to do with Sprint. He asked if CE-3’s BMS are the same, and you said no. He asked for evidence, which you have failed to show. He said they are the same, and he has evidence to back his claim.

But youre right, it wasnt just sprint, but was a huge factor. Just look at how large this thread is. A good compromise would be to have a classic ranked/social playlist and the new casual crap playlist. I.E. Ranked 4v4, 2v2 and ffa no spartan abilities and same with abilities

dude i posted clutchisms video, thats not evidence enough? Oh i guess since i didnt make it, its null and void? use the same logic with his. “REEEEE YOU DIDNT MAKE IT THO!” The argument stands. Sprint is a detriment to halo and slows down gameplay.

You keep telling me that like I don’t agree with you. Sprint. Was not. The Question.
I honestly believe you don’t know who you’re talking to, or you’re the kind of person where if they disagree with you on one thing, they’re an enemy or something, even if they agree with everything else you said.

This statement. Prove this one with video evidence. This one has nothing to do with Sprint, all your necessary evidence would be from Halo CE-3. Nothing about Halo 5.

It doesn’t matter what BMS is faster or slower, they’re nearly impossible to compare and sprint is faster than all of them, which is the problem. The faster movement speed is the problem. If BMS was as fast as sprinting is, that would still be a problem. This isn’t a BMS versus sprint mechanic discussion, this is a speed of gameplay discussion.

Let’s go back to your first claim I asked for a clarification about like this:
Is Halo 5 Sprint as fast as Halo Trilogy BMS?
Then further elaborated like this:
Is Halo 5 Sprint as fast as Halo 3 BMS in terms of units per second?
You promised a video, and the only one you’ve provided is one you most likely didn’t make, and which doesn’t provide a speed comparison between Halo 3 BMS and Halo 5 Sprint speed.
So, yet to prove for you is that Halo 5 sprint is as fast in u/s as Halo Trilogy BMS.

So you could link me to the official MLG Halo 2 rulesets then? I was under the impression pnly Halo 3 got 110% BMS with MLG, not Halo 2.

Do you, or do you not, have something actually substantial to show, which validate your claim that sprint is a huge factor of Halo’s decline?
Do you have a survey made?
Some other data to actually show a direct link between population loss, fewer sales and sprint? Data which isn’t just correlation.
How do you even “measure sprint’s magnitude” in all that? This thread alone?

Its easy to corrilate this, all you have to do is look at analytics from h2 til now. I dont play halo for the pretty art or lore, hell i havent played more t

I dont play halo for the pretty art or lore, hell i havent played more than 5 levels beat in campaign. I play halo because i like the multiplayer. No data can be provided because its subjective and mostly opinion based. People quit because art? nah doubtful. Quit because of campaign? doubtful aswell. Quit because halo5 at its core isnt halo. Easiest halo to date. I know this because i let my wife play online last night, shes never played halo but managed to get kills. With spartan charge being the main kill, its tied to sprint. Halo shouldnt be easy, i remember playing h2 and having to actually learn and practice. H5 requires less skill all around. Sprint being the number 1 factor because everything you do besides the golden triangle has sprint tied directly into it. Any veteran can see that and most of us quit.

So do you have that proof that Halo CE-3 are not the same movement speed? Or will you admit you’re wrong there too?

also, not trying to flame, but you only have 24 hours total play time. You dont even have enough in game experience to even have a proper explination as to why sprint is good for halo. Ive explained alot and all you have done is pick apart what you think is right with no reguard to the majority in this thread. Which is sprint is detrimental to halo. Ive got over 1000 hours played on 2 seperate accounts combined, no not a smurf either. I got report attacked in Ark and was perma banned.
