Why though? We still don’t know if H:I will re-introduce sprint and other spartan abilities or not.
Personally I would accept sprint only if Infinite is going to be an open world, if it has some sort of stamina-limit, you get slowed down or dropped out of it when shoot at and most importantly if it isn’t there at all in competitive base mp!
ADE MacBamboo01 That’s how sprint works now. At least in my experience that’s what happens. When I’m moving/sprinting and I get shot I get bumped out of sprint and generally my movement speed is greatly slowed down as well. I find it super frustrating because when I go and watch game replays of other players or I watch Halo YouTubers it doesn’t seem to happen to anyone else. If that could be fixed I’m happy with the Spartan mobility mechanics that are currently available for Halo 5.

Because we’ve been discussing this topic back and forth and haven’t violated any rules of Waypoint.
There’s 700+ pages of why Sprint is bad, namely as an increase in FOV and BMS accomplishes the same effect as Sprint, it’s just that you’re also allowed to shoot at the same time. No reason for a redundant, if not damaging mechanic, to stay in the game.

I’m curious to see what community input has on Halo Infinite. It looks like 343i is listening to us, but only time will tell.

Probably because nothing has actually changed yet. You might not feel strongly about it but clearly others do if there are over 750 pages of it.
For all the droning on, not many people has stated why Sprint has to stay in the game.

Not even accurate at all. Not even close.
If you sift through the 700+ pages about the exact same thing you’ll see tons and tons of posts stating why sprint is good and should stay in Halo, followed closely by anti-sprint rage which ends up with circular arguments which go in the same paths of logic (many of which just become bias, pretentious, and arguably illogical) over and over again.

Just going through the first couple of pages and you can see the opposite: People saying why Sprint is bad and should stay out of Halo, followed closely by people just going “If you don’t like Sprint just don’t use it”, which misses the point of the argument in the first place.
There are people of all kinds on the thread. Logical people for and against Sprint, Irrational people for and against Sprint, and then you have people who are just looking to derail the topic in the first place (I mean, look at the previous two pages.)
I mean, we basically have a resident moderator here, so you could argue that this thread is more closely watched for insults and irrationality than most other threads on Waypoint.
A lot of arguments get countered by the other side, but through all 750+ pages, I have rarely seen many people put up a concrete reason why just switching to a faster Base Movement Speed isn’t a good idea.

Maybe they’ll take a page out of the art directors book and make a sort of hybrid of classic and modern Halo. I mean, at this point we all know sprint could easily be replaced by an increase in bms, if they scrap sprint and clamber I’m more than willing to keep thrust and maybe stabilizer.

If anything it could be moved to the Infinite section? Infinite’s engine tech demo showed nothing in terms of gameplay.
In that department the only thing I’ve heard was that Halo 6 will have the same gameplay as Halo 5, but that was ages ago and as far as I’m concerned only a drive-by statement.

I assume all that is exclusive to the anti-sprint side?

Someone agrees with me! At last!
Watch yourself out here, and prepare for a flurry of replies and quotes. Many of the regulars here are fed by disputation for its own sake to the point where it gets annoying, so be careful who you reply to and why. Lest you spend an entire day arguing.
I also agree with you that Sprint should stay in Halo. Either that, or an H2A style multiplayer.

Pretty much just H2 with the poppy H2A colors. Poppy colors are a must, otherwise I get “game sickness”.

I might be missunderstanding you here but what do “poppy colors” have to do with gameplay/sprint?!

Nothing. The H2A style thing was a side remark. It’s not really meant to be connected to my pro-sprint position on gameplay.
If you do want something on gameplay, I think that things like the bubble shield should never return. But this isn’t particularly the thread for that.

Probably because again, all it takes to stop the “regulars” is to actually disprove what they are saying. Forgive me for trying to come up with a solution such as “iNcrEAse bMS”, because no one actually said why we can’t do that, and it looks like you don’t intend to ether.
You find arguing a waste of time, but provoking other people and calling them out is apparently a better use of it?

Provoking? All I did was warn our good friend here of the incoming legion, nothing more.
All you just did was ironically reaffirm the warning.

‘warn’
‘incoming legion’
Is there such a need for melodramatic wording? A ‘flurry’ of disagreeing comments on a controversial thread with 780 pages is surprising to you…also a flurry? like 3-4 comments per post wouldn’t constitute such a warning now would it?..since a forum is for discussion. I think your problem is that you aren’t willing to discuss, just post your thoughts and not expect others to react differently, why get offended when someone puts effort in to disagree?
If you like something defend it, if you throw out a comment with little research or are half hearted in your stance then don’t be put off if people really passionate about the topic reply back. Don’t resort to attacking others or being hostile when you decide to not want to act maturely either, that usually doesn’t sit well with anyone.
Your comment reaffirmed that you intend to provoke, as has all your posts in this thread.

I find it funny how the “legion” is the only one trying to come to a rational solution with some level of compromise. People don’t like it when you tell them “go play a different game if you like Sprint so much”, but try to talk to people with some level of respect and now you’re upset that a bunch of people don’t agree with you.
