No it doesn’t. I agree with much of what you are saying, but this is the most polarizing aspect of Halo to be added. I’ve seen enough polls over the years to see that the community is about a 50/50 split on Sprint. Regardless of the direction 343i takes, if they cater to just one potion of the community on Sprint, they will be chasing away large numbers of players.

The only time I’ve seen polls that favor sprint are more recently, like since Halo 5 came out. Before that people were largely against sprint. And given how a couple shooters have recently proven that sprint is unneeded and how many people disliked sprint when the community was larger, 343 stands to gain more fans than they lose if they just did things properly. Anti-sprinters see the negative effects of sprint and thus are more likely to stop playing (and all signs say they have) than pro-sprinters are if sprint is removed just because it’s slightly inconvenient in theory (not that they would notice for long, given how the game would be adjusted to provide faster paced gameplay).

I’d like to continue this, but I gotta go to work.
These are polls that I have seen since Reach. There is no proof that a majority were against it. It was added into 4 because the metrics showed 343 that it was the #1 chosen AA in Reach… I have issues with that, but thats another discussion.
As of right now, the people who are asking for Sprint to stay are playing Halo because they love Halo with Sprint, and the way it makes them “feel”. The players that play for the gameplay aspects of a Sprinting Halo have moved on to games like Destiny or BO3, as they offer a better gameplay experience using similar mechanics. I don’t agree that sprint is needed to “evolve” Halo and I do believe that it drastically changes the core of Halos gameplay, but I also see that it is a loose/ loose for the franchise to pick one side over the other at this point.

Literally some of the pro-sprinters and the younger generation.
So we all agree there should be an option to have it on or not in the menu’s? Or are we going to argue back and for for another 76 pages and then make another thread on this a few days after? I have to ask but how old are you guys? This isn’t nersersary or helpful in the least.

Can we change this to a good DLC ideas thread instead. Like OG armor and a transport warthog, like literally this would be a good kick start for it.

I won’t argue with the reasons for it being in Halo 4, I’m sure that was why it was added and it’s not necessarily unreasonable.
I don’t know if you’re familiar with the reddit sprint thread that was made over a year ago because someone wanted to find out whether or not people wanted sprint by polling three very different communties, but the results he found were the same as they had been before then. At the very least those were peoples opinions on it since Halo 4 was was a taste of a game with a fully implemented sprint, as opposed to Reach’s version.
Pro-sprinters will also largely continue to play a game without sprint because it’s Halo. They’re play it no matter what. The masses don’t know what they want, so if sprint were removed, they’d buy the game to try it and would see (if 343 is smarter enough to do it correctly) that the game can be faster paced without sprint. Anti-sprinters already know it doesn’t work and more and more will just stop buying the games.

Arh yeah, great. But then we’d get even more toxic responses.

Are u really that dense? They wouldn’t shift to halo nor would they stay. I have a few little cousins that shifted from CoD to halo after 3 and they loved it, plus with sprint they’ve become addicted with Halo 5. If halo removed sprint, them and their friends, along with the rest of their generation would stop halo because it’s taking a “step back”

So your evidence that the game would lose a lot of players is your few cousins that play Halo for the sole fact that it has sprint? Judging from the likes of Doom and Overwatch, they’re in the minority. Unless you’re saying no young people have played either or those games.
Not to mention you’re speaking in hypotheticals. What your cousins would do "if". Evidence is based off what we know. What we know is that plenty of people have since left the series after sprint was added, most of them were against it when the community was larger and recent games have been praised for their fun gameplay despite a lack of despite.

He’s not saying that, those games didn’t have Sprint in the first place and this is a dumb topic cuz you can either turn off Sprint in customs or just don’t use sprint it’s an easy solution.

So you’re saying if I don’t sprint, nobody else will either? And the maps will be adjusted accordingly? I actually didn’t know that. Thank you, sir.
