Hey War, please try to stay on topic. The haters keep hating but if you get caught up in it, the topic will probably get locked, which that guy would love. So try to resist the urge.
Can we stop with these Spartan ability threads? We get it, you’re butt hurt halo isn’t what you grew up with. Get over it. Game developers have to constantly update how their games play to keep up with an evolving market, and their competitors. Throwing tantrums on forums won’t get rid of sprint, so how about you shut your yap and embrace the fact that games and how the play will continue to change.

Today marks a stand point in my career as I get my first Oscar at the 77th oscars awards night. But I’d like to thank everyone around me for getting me to where I am right now. Thank you everyone, thank you.

would you be saying that if the circumstances were reversed? what if halo goes in a different direction…one you dont like…will you “shut your yap and embrace the fact that games and how they play will continue to change”?

Look at the biggest shooters on consoles right now. CoD, Destiny, Overwatch. They didn’t “keep up” with the market by copying it, they set themselves apart. None of them just copied the competition, so why do you think that’s necessary for any reason?

> I’ve played halo 5 with sprint disabled. It doesn’t suddenly magically feel like Halo 2 or Halo CE because of that one mechanic so why would Halo 6?
Maybe that’s because Halo 5 was built with Sprint in mind. The fact that it doesn’t feel the same with Sprint disabled is a given and is why simply putting in a few Sprint-less playlists doesn’t serve as a real solution.
What my biggest question is that why are people going on about “halo is ruined, restore now 343”. So many people just need to acknowledge either change or that it is alright to stay with previous games. The reason why I hate these threads is that they are unoriginal and always people fighting. That is why I said that this thread should be put aside
I have said this before, but I feel that I should say it again. A Sprint-less playlist (maybe even a few, to add variety) would be a band-aid fix at best, but there would be no downsides to anyone that would arise from adding it. If people don’t want to play “Classic” mode, they won’t. If people only want to play it, they will. There would only be more options for people to choose from, and it may satisfy those against sprint until a more complete solution can be found that satisfies both parties completely. I’d love to see a classic playlist, personally. I’m like Halo 5 (usually), but some more variety would be nice. Anti-sprinters, would that be satisfactory for, at least, a little while?
So swinging your arm next to your torso make you feel like a super soldier and loosing the ability to shoot and nade? Don’t sprint if you don’t like sprinting and keep enjoying wonky maps made for specific use of sprint in mind? Can’t you see the other changes in game are result of sprint?
Radars 18m vs 25m -> you see half the area as before (~1020m^2 vs ~1960m^2) because they noticed that sprint and long maps with the normal sized radar didn’t mix and match. People saw incoming forces too early and sprinting made escaping too easy.
Faster kill times so people have less time to escape an encounter (with sprint) making the game feel slower.
Making the sniper head shots extremely easy (Halo 3 sniper 50 here) so that a sprinting opponent isn’t impossible to headshot. God even no-scoping is extremely easy…
Ridiculous nade damage radius -> this also because of thrusters
It isn’t just sprint in itself that we like to see leavening Halo, it’s the effects it has had on the core way that the game worked. If you see a Halo 3 match (of course depending on the map), you’ll notice that the gameplay feels fast not because of lack of sprint, but because of 8 players having their guns and nades at the ready at all times and maps made for encountering opponents.
We had sprint for 6 years and I can see why people don’t want to give up. I’ve played my share of halo, now my med studies prevent me from having the same amount of time to use on gaming. Halo never needed sprint and never will (maybe in warzone or some campaign mission to get through empty and useless spaces faster). Playing a well made map would make you see that sprinting to get back in to battle useless, you should always be in battle anyway.

He probably wouldn’t care and just move on from the game altogether. Just the fact that he calls people voicing their very well put and well written opinion having tantrums shows he doesn’t care for the franchise. Just by saying that games evolve and change, he thinks that it’s checkmate, we are beaten, lets but our laptops aways and see what the next Halo brings. I for one will not just step aside. Maybe if I made a thread about more Req packs and less stupid campaign or multiplayer included achievements and rewards he’d be happy… /s -.-’
Look, You might not realize it but sprinting actually helps. For example, what if you have to run to a downed ally but your thrusters were used up? Sprint towards them. Or what if you play grifball and your closing in on the one who’s holding the ball but you can’t use thrusters? Sprint towards them. Or what if you’re playing a custom game session where it involves parkour? one word for ya, Sprint.
Noticing a theme yet?
if you haven’t noticed, sprinting actually provides use. actually, now that i think about it you probably came from Favyn’s channel so you sir have no business here.
Now if you dont mind, we’ll be going back to playing our game now.

i deleted the rest because i dont feel like debunking that argument right now cuz im confident others here will…but your first sentence…REALLY? you cant just censor something because people are saying things you disagree with…if you want to start a thread about how great you think sprint or armore abilities or whatever it is you like…then do it…i will disagree…but i wont be calling for it to be locked…people have opinions and the right to express them
I must not fall in your definition of everyone. I like sprint, and I hope it stays. Besides, it appeals to a wider demographic than just the original Halo fans.
