I want to move and shoot at once. I want to jump backwards off an object while looking across map and firing away. I DO NOT WANT to have to stop shooting, turn, look directly at where I want to jump, sprint to build speed, jump, land, turn, resuming shooting. That is not Halo.

They would quickly see that all the popular servers would be classic style ones, and maybe realize that it’d be a good idea to go back to that style. It’s too bad that neither of those things will ever happen though…

> Exactly, it’s pretty obvious that Halo games with sprint aren’t doing well and most people don’t like then, otherwise we wouldn’t have this 700 page thread. Why does 343 continue to do the same thing (that doesn’t work) and expect different results?

I could give a -Yoink- about popularity.Sprints many negative mechanical effects are why it should be removed not some stupid popularity contest.

Sprint and spartan abilities does not belong in Halo at all, not in multiplayer and not in campaign. People liked Halo because it was simple. It was easy to pick up and play but hard to master. Halos movement nowadays is to complicated and people don’t want complicated games. If that was the case Titanfall, Halo 5 and Infinite warfare would be the best selling games ever! A lot of my friends left Halo after Halo Reach because it was not Halo anymore, they wanted a clean and simple gameplay in a Halo game and Halo Reach did not deliver that and Halo 4 and Halo 5 did nothing to bring them back.

And if you looked at the sales trend for the Halo series its clear that the popularity grew from Halo CE to Halo 3 without sprint. And with sprint the trend is now downwards.

People bought Halo for the simple gameplay Halo offered but thats not the case anymore. I think there is more to it than sprint in Halos decline like missing features at launch, NO SPLIT SCREEN, poor art design and so on but sprint is one major reason.

Nothing is the same in Halo anymore. The Gameplay is different, the Master Chief lookes different, the weapons look different, the sounds are different, the enemies look different, the spartans look different, the marines look different and the list goes on…

Think if Apple changed everything about their iPhone. People buy iPhones because they like the simplicity and the look of the iPhone. The core iPhone hasn’t changed very much over the years but it has improved all the time. If Apple would change the look and made the iPhone more complicated I’m quite sure that iPhone sales would drop just like the Halo series has done with the different complexity and look.

Halo sould play like Halo, look like Halo, sound like Halo. The improvements should be in features like forge, custom game browsers, gamemodes and so on and not gameplay and look. Everything needs to work 100% at launch!!!

I mean, I agree, Mr Trump, everthing should work at launch, well at least 90% at launch. I mean with Halo 5, seriously, the first week of launch, the reqs didn’t even work… Hello? Wasn’t Halo 5’s advertising campaign all about WarZone and its Reqs(aside from campaign)? Then, shouldn’t the Reqs work? And when the whole “WarZone in custom games!!!” blew up, the Reqs crashed, once again. And then there are so many exploits in WarZone maps, like getting under the map? And what about the Garage on Attack on sanctum? You can stand on the Vehicle bay, and contest, or capture, the base!!! These little things, should not exist. And also, little thing, you can change your UI, a bad glitch that should not exist, how is it a glitch? The UI is actually one of the maps, but there is no way to actually customize your UI, or customize it permanantly.

Yeah I think sprint needs to stay.

What, no reasons as to why? No attempt to rebut the arguments against sprint? Not even the tried and true “sprint makes you go faster” or “Spartans can sprint in lore” arguments that have been easily countered ad nausium? I’m honestly disappointed.

I just think sprint needs to stay.
Why are you disappointed?

Because simply saying “Sprint needs to stay” without ever saying why Sprint needs to stay holds about as much water as saying “Armor Lock needs to stay” without ever saying why.

I think sprint needs to stay because I like being able to sprint.

Well I think Sprint needs to go because I like not having to Sprint.

Well that’s your opinion, a lot of games right now have sprint and I think it’s fine where it’s at in Halo.

We shouldn’t be adding things simply because other games have it. There shouldn’t be change for the sake of change.

People made that same argument with Loadouts in Halo Reach and Halo 4, and guess what? I didn’t work, and now it’s removed.

Um okay, I still don’t find anything wrong with sprint.

The 710 pages in this thread didn’t clue you in?

He says as he clearly didn’t read any one of the 710 pages of this thread. Seriously read one just one page. You’ll find an argument as to why it’s bad even if you support it still.

The threads for discussion, not to say “I see nothing wrong, it should stay”

Well I read the first page, I’m not going to read all 710 just to see other peoples opinions on sprinting. If you don’t like what I said because it was too short and no explanation for why that’s your problem not mine. So back off and ignore it and go on in your life.

What’s the point of a Sprint discussion thread if not for discussion…

Who said all 710 pages are people’s opinions? Sprint changes the game to revolve around sprint and comes with more negative mechanics.

Asking to keep Sprint regardless of what happens to the game is essentially saying the aesthetic of sprinting is more important than the gameplay itself.

Ok then.

No one is saying you can’t have your opinion, just that if you are going to come into a thread about a highly debated topic in the community that you need to articulate your arguments better then just “I like it therefore it should stay”. It’s a very shallow argument and doesn’t help prove WHY you think sprint is good for Halo, especially when we have countless posts on this thread talking about why sprint ISN’T good for Halo.

Okay I don’t want to be harping on people here, but a two word response? Really?

Yeah because I really just don’t care. All I said was I think sprint needs to stay, I didn’t think someone was going to get upset over a simple sentence with literally no logic.
