I would love to do it if someone did decent enough job with it. I considered it myself at some point, but it felt like a daunting task that I wasn’t prepared to do, so I gave up.

While I think there would be a greater audience for a classic style game, Halo 5 presents a unique style of game play that could be fleshed out further and be its own thing one day. I don’t think it should be a mainline Halo as it does not respect the series identity whatsoever although in the same way that different spin-offs had you play as ODST’s or Spartan III’s maybe there could be a spin-off that continues the spartan IV’s H5 style movement system. I think mainline Halo’s should definitely respect the classic formula though.

Ah man that’d be great but super time consuming and tedious. I don’t think that a computer program would even work to do it because there’s no way to sort those kinds of things (logical, backed up points vs ridiculous ones)

Dear god…
“don’t use sprint”- why penalize yourself?
laughs at sprint effecting maps design- does it not elongate areas and stretch things? Have people not done BMS comparisons between sprint showing travel time differences and such?
“it’s a game, have fun”- why have fun if there’s something blocking your way of having fun? He’s essentially telling people to just pretend a bad design isn’t there, wish I could just pretend my own problems don’t exist.
“It’s lore”- lore doesn’t equate to good gameplay, most games that do that tend to break the gameplay doing so.
“Go play mcc or older games”- this is the one that actually irked me the most. Going back to older games isn’t continuation, it’s going back to what’s been done. Maybe I should tell him to go play H4-5 “if” H6 were to remove it, I’d love to see his response on that. H2 wasn’t copying CE and H3 wasn’t copying H2, so I don’t see how making H6 like H1-3 but with actual improvements would be playing “the same game”.
i love favryns comment saying the dude wasn’t even worth his own time to argue vs, and the act man saying he was so confused and calling them out as very weak and disorganized arguements which I fully agree to.
also love /s the “stop whining remark” from the dude in the video, so typical to see when people bring up issues.

Considering the outright ignorance/denial of the affects of sprint in Halo from some of the people in the comments (one was apparently so upset by Favyn’s point of view on the video and sprint as a whole that they told him to essentially “get a life”, as if that insult hasn’t been thrown at people who have a passion for something for ages), it astounds me how people can still outright defend it the way they do. I understand if you like sprint despite the changes it made to the formula, but to outright deny that there was any change just seems ludicrous to me.

It honestly seemed like it was a parody for a while. Videos like that are why people shouldn’t be valuing a youtubers opinion over any old player. There isn’t anything making them more right just because they’re popular. All of his points were simple minded and badly thought out.

There is discussion, but whenever I randomly click this thread it’s usually the same recycled arguments that have been discussed a thousand times already. Maybe I’ve missed the new ones in-between my clicks though?
My opinion is still to get rid of sprint in H6 and increase the base movement speed, but I’d be shocked if 343 actually did that though.

I hear ya and agree. I think most of the arguments have been said and discussed but just pointing out that there has been and a lot of really good ones.

I think the safest bet would be to make a spinoff. You can test the market for a non sprint Halo and appeal some old fans. Maybe give some more time for Halo 6’s story too. The critical and commercial success of a non sprint Halo should be what determines whether the new movement mechanics are in the series.

Haha, I just mean currently. I’ve been voicing my opinions and having discussions in this thread a lot, I just mean there hasn’t been any discussion in the last few pages/for the last couple if weeks.

Exactly this! If you’ve noticed the dates from the last post before tsassi’s post and mine, it was from a little while ago meaning it’s been DAYS or even WEEKS since I or anyone has even touched this thread. I feel like I’m having to defibrillate the thread to keep it from dying just from posting this.
