Ahhh no…halo 5’s gameplay is the best the series has ever seen. Sorry

Well, it sounds like that would be your own fault for not sticking close to cover. You shouldn’t get to sprint out of a mistake you made.

First off, enough with the fallacious arguments of “modernized” mechanics. Just because a mechanic (Sprint) is present in the majority of FPS in today’s market doesn’t make it any better for Halo. There are some modern FPS titles that do very well without the ability to sprint (DOOM and Overwatch, for instance). Sprint as a mechanic isn’t even new or innovative to begin with, given it gained traction with 2007’s CoD: Modern Warfare and was applied in early builds of Halo 2 (which released in 2004).
Secondly, you’re comparing a game dropping one of the most generic gameplay elements in today’s market to games that were limited by the technology of times they were made. The argument for/against Sprint is with regards to game design, not engineering/technological limits. Its not a matter of “can it be imlemented”, but of “should it be implemented”.
That said, do you have any reasons for why it should stay, other than “Its in {insert game title}”?

lol
Those gametypes have one hit kill melees.

Hiya I’m Deadpool
I don’t think we should get rid of sprint per se, but rather create dedicated gamemodes where there is no sprint.
-You have to remember Halo reaches to a much more widespread audience than it did pre-2010, and this means it reaches out to a lot of different tastes/preferences. Because of this, the series needs to change to keep up - resulting in more mainstream features such as sprint (and more verticality in maps for that matter).
I agree that no sprint makes the gameplay feel more authentic and original, but with all else considered there is just no point in removing it from the game anymore. Time to embrace the change, folks.
While I’m at it, we should have more community based maps in all Arena game modes, specifically in this theoretical “Classic” playlist.
Have a good day!

In my opinion although it would in some ways be more like the old halo we all love. It’s extremely useful. If I’m not shooting then I’m sprinting. Sprinting is also in almost all games now and a lack of it would make halo seem like it can’t keep up. A final point, it makes the game more realistic.A spartan trained extensively with years of experience who can’t choose to take a jog when being shot at?!?!?

Hit the nail on the head there. The lore contributes a large part to the changes too.
How tf would removing sprint change how terrible the campaign was. And who tf thinks that removing it would instantly make halo 6 better?! XD
I just dont get all these people complaining about sprint.

So to keep up and be successful in FPS style games you need sprint. This has to be the dumbest thing I’ve heard. Go look at Overwatch, and DOOM, and they are doing just fine. Unreal Tournament 2016, and Quake are soon to be coming out with no sprint, and they will most likely do fine without it as well. Halo was doing fantastic without sprint, but with the continued trend of sprint in Halo it’s just been going down the pooper.

You dont need sprint in doom because you already go fast, and overwatch Im sure it is not slow paced

It must be hard being that -Yoinking!- savage.

Halo 5 flaw wasnt sprint, it was lack of content and bad campaign, sprint is not the problem, it wasnt, it isnt and it wont never be a problem, we want the same thing: make halo great again, but just because it was popular when it didnt have sprint doesnt mean that it needs to be like that. 10 years had passed, things change.
