Yeah… must be a slow week on Waypoint if we’re still beating this dead horse.

It is. People change heroes in Overwatch to fit the situation. Just because you see someone playing as Soldier doesn’t mean they’re playing as him the whole game. You’ve also only played 56 games, which isn’t a lot and is where you’re more likely to see Soldiers since he’s the beginner hero.

> All Promethean weapons are modular, meaning you get a basic promethean weapon, say a bolt shot that shoot only straight and then you need to find Promethean Modules with different attributes to “upgrade” your weapon, and it can only hold a set amount of modules. For instance, pick up a Rapid module and a Seeker module and you’d have a Suppressor rifle. A Scatter module and a bounce module and you have a Scatter Shot. A Seeker Module and a Scatter module would have a shotgun firing seeking projectiles. A Rapid module and bounce module would make a Suppressor that fire non-seeking but bouncing projectiles.

> Health implemented again, but regenerating to an extent. You need to have Biofoam stored to be able to regenerate health, and biofoam depletes at an increased rate the more health damage you’ve taken. So, if you for instance regenerate 10 points of health it could require 5 points of biofoam, but regenerate 20 points and it would need 15 points. Biofoam can be picked up from the map, and shared with team mates.

With all this implemented, I would be ok with no sprint, but other than that, I want sprint still.

It’s great already. I don’t know why this thread got blown up.

Just all anxiously awaiting for Warzone Firefight. I’m sure when it comes out everyone will be up in arms about something else.

> That is one of the criticisms though. Sprinting makes your movement more fast paced, which many see as a bad thing. Sprinting doesn’t actually really affect the pace of the overall game though.

I have to disagree there. In my opinion, it very much effects the overall game pace, although it makes it slower, not faster. Ever since Reach, it takes me twice as long to find enemies after an engament / after respawn than before (15-20sec vs 5-10sec), due to the streched-out maps, which we already know to be a ripple-effect from the inclusion of sprint.

People say it helps you back in the action faster → one aspect that was unique to halo was that slower pace that allowed you to make plans ahead and not just run mindlessly back to battle. Maps have been made with clamber and sprint in mind → it makes me feel like a tiny Spartan, all the corridors and halls are wide and extreme long (halo reach map remakes for example halo 3s the Pit had this problem) and my enemies are on top on lamp posts around the map. Keeping a position which was very important in previous halos is now almost impossible because of the fast pace that the players can get back in action and even clamber up next to you…

The maps were always big in Halo especially CE and 2, H3 had slightly smaller arena maps so did Reach. Their is no logical reason why a super soldier can’t clamber or sprint. The maps are not solely big because of sprint, Spartan Charge and Ground Pound are why the maps are so funky and why the radar was shortened. Spartan Charge makes perfect sense considering you reach maximum velocity sprinting and it becomes a powerful melee that for some reason DOES THE SAME AMOUNT OF DAMAGE as a regular melee. Ground Pound on the other hand should instantly kill you because you’re basically rocketing towards the ground. Halo 6 should bring back fall damage because I think skill jumps would have more risk/reward.

Yeah it is, that’s exactly what halo is. Halo 3: ODST is the exception, but only because it’s an ODST simulator. Halo two was the ultimate in combat simulation, with dual wield, elites, ands decent customization.

sigh

We already have a TON of reports in this thread, please don’t add to the growing problem.

It’s going to be hard to justify keeping this thread unlocked if this continues.

Why’d you have to go and say that? There are a bunch of people that would love to go and get this thread locked.

No, Halo isn’t a spartan simulator, it is far from a simulator. You’re missing so much you don’t even half half the things implemented for it to be a simulator.

Just tying to be transparent as possible.

We encourage constructive discussion. This is a hot button topic. It’s difficult to talk about without passion. Unfortunately, it’s that very passion that leads to various forum infractions. Tempers flare, some one flames some one, and people flame back in retort. Just because some one flames you doesn’t mean you have any justification for carrying out the same infraction. It’s the nature of these topics. Be respectful of each others opinions, and divorce emotion from your posts. Stay on target and we’re good.

We don’t plan on locking this topic anytime soon, PROVIDED you stay withing the bounds as set by the forum rules. Venture outside the lines and we will take appropriate action.

I don’t like sprint myself, but I don’t think they will ever remove sprint to be perfectly honest.

Sprinting and spartan charge are useless against anyone with a headset. You can easily hear the sound of someone’s thrusters coming up behind you. Obviously someone put some thought into this issue so that it would be balanced.
