reach was good except sprint weapon bloom.

And jetpack, armor lock and such. The overall content for the game was solid, but the general game play was not competitively viable until later in Reach’s lifespan.

It’s called MCC.

This, and even then it was only ok at best.

No it’s not, there is one mode, the shot reg is worse than it was on 360. I want the game back, to see if what happened with cs.go can happen on a smaller scale.

Im glad there is sprint YOUR A SPARTAN

You’re^
and as we’ve discussed at length in this thread
that’s not a reason for sprint to be included in the series
by that logic you should be able to go prone and lean as well…maybe those will be the next “evolutions” in halo for halo 6

oh boy, I hate to tell you but apparently lean was something Bungie was experimenting with during H2’s development (a H2 dev tweeted about it and how he is not a fan of sprint, I can’t remeber who it was though…) so I wouldn’t be surprised i 343 does actually include lean into H6…

It’s a prime of example of ‘Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should’.

Late reply: I’ve been at work for a few days. So here we go…

The BR could NOT effectively hurt or kill a Halo 3 warthog. Your claim is factually false. I suggest loading up a custom game in Halo 3 and studying how many BR rounds it takes to kill a hog. And once you get that number tell me it’s a practical number to pull off in matchmaking.

Nostalgia? Uh… no. I stated facts. If you played poorly and made yourself vulnerable, you were dead. You are also ignoring the fact it was even WORSE in Halo 1 where the magnum’s TTK was insanely quick. Much quicker than the H2 BR. So, the attempt at pulling the “nostalgia” card wasn’t the best. You say that “EVERY TIME” the BR would beat out the rockets in Halo 2. Well, I can’t say I am blinded by nostalgia but (not to sound rude here) but it sounds like a case of poor aim because I never experienced anyone struggling to use the rockets of all things.

And, uh… no one claimed Halo 3 was like CoD. I don’t think you’ve been around in this community long enough. And your supporting evidence for that was people saying the plasma pistol EMP was similar to CoD? What? Like seriously… I don’t know what you even mean by that.

Aaaaaand again with convoluting of what I am saying. I never said you didn’t care about Arena. The fact you’re thinking balance is synonymous with Arena further displays your ignorance on the subject.

I don’t even know what to say about your comeback concerning the RNG that is bloom. It doesn’t fit the RNG traditional definition in that it literally generates a number that is on the display for the player. But it DOES generate a random deviation from zero, zero meaning the center of your screen, dead-on accuracy. But at that point you’re just arguing semantics and didn’t even touch on my point.

There’s a difference in debate style between us. You resort to semantics, convoluting what others are saying, and avoiding arguments and valid points. You hide behind the “ur nostalgia” card.

BUT, and here’s the line that proves to me that we shouldn’t be having this discussion…

"Bloom was the lighting effect if I recall."
…wat

> > > >
> > > > Bloom, in turn, is (aside from a similarly named lighting effect) a weapon mechanic where the spread of shots grows the longer the player shoots with it (visualized with an expanding reticle on the DMR). In case of Bloom, there is a circle of some radius (the radius of the spread), inside of which the position where the shot is registered is drawn randomly from a (likely non-uniform) distribution. Therefore, it’s completely appropriate to call the DMR an “RNG based” weapon.
> > >
> > >
> > > I know what RNG is. Weapon spread isn’t really entirely RNG. It’s more of a realism factor. You don’t stop to aim and that will mess with your aim. Sometimes it work a out. Is the AR spread RNG? Pretty sure there is a H5G weapon where the reticule and fire don’t match up.
> > >
> > > Not RNG based either, seeing as how you still actually had to aim if you were half decent.
> > >
> > > You want an RNG weapon, go play TF2. They’ll have something for you, surely. Figured bloom was the sun’s reflection because everyone was complaining about how bright it was. I’m not much into the technicalities of Reach either way it goes.
> >
> >
> > No, based on this post, it seems to me that you don’t yet understand what it means for a system to be “RNG based”. RNG does not mean that something is solely based on luck. In fact “RNG” has nothing to do with gameplay per se. An RNG is just an algorithm that generates random numbers, and if a gameplay mechanic at any point calls a piece of code that generates random numbers, then we shall call it “RNG based”.
> >
> > Almost all shooters where shots have some sort of spread determine the spread pattern using some form of random number generator. if you take an AR (in any Halo), and shoot at the wall, you will see that the shots have no discernible pattern; they are randomly distributed. The position of each shot within the reticle is determined by a piece of code that at some point calls a random number generating function. Therefore, the spread is RNG based.
>
>
> You got my point. Nobody cares when it was weapon A, the AR, but if it is weapon B, the DMR, everyone loses their minds.

Are you serious?

The main weapon, the utility, should not have random spread that HURTS the better skilled player.

How someone has 50 days of playtime in Reach and does not know what “bloom” in context of Halo refers to, I can’t understand. But if someone had never played Reach, I could totally see how they might be confused. After all, this is the more common usage of bloom in the wider context of video games.

It’s all everyone votes for in every playlist. The game has been taken over by H3 (and H4) kids. Shot registration was always bad. Don’t pretend like it hasn’t. That combined with the inherent random spread of the BR makes it annoying to play online period. If you want to play the 3rd best Halo so bad, play MCC or go play it on 360. Nobody’s stopping you.

Bungie experimented with lean in H2 and then canned it because it didn’t work with the other game mechanics…a lot like they did with sprint
believe me Bungie screwed up a lot of things in the halo series as well I don’t have Bungie coloured glasses to this whole thing, that being said I still feel that bungie games had a more solid foundation that their games were laid upon

Explain what?
the games still broken, there’s nothing to explain
there is a laundry list of game breaking bugs and problems that still plague all of the games which is compounded by a minsicule population because everyone left because of those problems
There is literally no possible way you can believe the game is near a functioning state
the audio cuts out in h2a
the game won’t keep parties together
the game disbands parties
the game doesn’t show friends online
the game will just flat out refuse to find players or games and if it does find a game 50% of the time the game crashes to the Xbox dashboard
disconnects are worse then they are in H5 and I’ve even got screen shots of my MCC game which is puchrased and played in Australia displaying nothing but Japanese/Korean script when trying to connect to a game…

so yeah…like I said…games broken

Agreed. If they do make a H3A they better fix the netcode and spread, and implement a game wide speed increase by 10% or just increase the FOV back to 90.

Are you crazy, halo 3 is the most popular halo. also the br does not have random spread, it spreads in the opposite direction you are moving towards like a real guns would If you fired whilst moving. just because you suck and can’t land shots.
