This is a matter if opinion. It is just a much more popular opinion that AAs had a significant negative impact. Don’t pull this 'sprint is bad. Fact. Aas are bad. Fact" stuff.

It is literally not a matter of opinion. 8 people spawning with abilities that they can reuse has more of an affect on the game than one time use abilities that are scattered about the map. That is a fact.

Whether it was a negative, positive, or neutral affect is opinion.

Andsthat’s my opinion that equipment have more of a negative impact on gameplay than AAs. I know that AAs have more.of an overall impact, but I think most of it was either positive or neutral, with some negative. I feel like equipment have more of a negative impact than aas.

Like you said, it is a.fact that aas has more of am overall impact on gameplay. It is opinion how much of it was negative and if equipment had more negative impact

Oh ok, I misunderstood what you were saying.

I really don’t understand how you can see equipment being more unpredictable than AAs were at all.

They were not balanced as well as AAs, and their spawn timers were much more akin to regular weapons like the BR, plasma rifle, or carbine. There was usually quite a few runningnaround on maps and it wasnt an uncommon occurance to see 2-3 bubble shields deployed next toneachother simultaneously. That did a number on game flow. Almost all the positives of armor lock, without the downside of being stationary. And they last much longer too

> Look at the games that have come out recently that have become successful MP games. Minecraft, Rocket League, RS Siege, Overwatch. They all delivered an experience that people didn’t even know they wanted before those games showed them. 343’s Halo games don’t show us anything that we don’t see everywhere else. They give us exactly what we expect. Nothing more. Nothing less. When H4 launched the expectation was for FPS games to have loudouts, and perks, and killstreaks and sprint. That’s what we got. When H5 launched the expectation was for FPS games to have thrust, and clamber, and double jump/floating, and ADS, and sprint. That’s what we got. It’s boring.

> Give people something they don’t expect. What they don’t expect is a fast, visceral Halo built of a sprintless movement base.

I just want halo 2 and 3 back, I miss it so much it hurts.

I mentioned how it was a much better alternative to AAs, because it functions as a one use Pam pickup in a way similar to power weapons.

Agreed but in Halo 5 the sprint is necessary due the new mechanics and modes and the size of the maps in Halo 5, IMO

Halo 5 is the firts time i play Halo MP, i always play Gears.

In overwatch the sprint is not necessary because the size of the maps and modes.

im all for keep sprint in halo 6.

The reason why the maps are way bigger than they need to be is because they were made knowing that sprint would be included in the game. Halo 1-3 didn’t have sprint, and on all normal sized maps the game flowed just fine. Heck, if you ever played CE you would know that it was far faster paced than any sprint based game.

as being said, this is the first time im playing Halo mp. ive been playing Gears of war for the last 10 years

i do played CE, on the original xbox, really liked, but the mp in halo never was my thing, till Halo 5.

i have finished all 5 halo games before, reach and odst too.

I did not like those it was so slow and lame. Halo 4 was good Halo 5 is good and I hope Halo 6 will be even better. I am sorry but I am not into this old school Halo. It was fun at that time but things had to change. A simple thing like sprint should be in every FPS in my opinion. I did not like this “having bricks on your feed while trying to move like an octopus in a knight suit” That’s what the old Halo was if we are honest. If you liked that style then you should go and play it. I still hope for games to change and surprise me and adding sprint makes it more fun at least to me. Everyone has his opinion.
>
>
> It’s ridiculous how new halo fans seem to adopt this perspective that old school players want a slower-paced game. We don’t like sprint because there are better alternatives to make halo fast paced while maintaining the ability to optimally move and shoot at the same time (unlike newer halo games), through an increased BMS along with an increased FOV to give the illusion of moving faster.
>
> The idea that things had to change is extremely flawed, as Halo was never given a chance to replicate the game play of Halo 3, the best selling game of this franchise. If the game play from that became stale and no one liked it, then fine, we could change the game. But Bungie immediately jumped the gun to fundamentally change Halo’s core game play by making Reach, without giving 3 a second chance.

This!!! (above) I just don’t think a lot of people understand how the Sprint animation changes the game… or they just don’t have a very good imagination. Not trying to be offensive to anyone just saying. Doesn’t matter if you like sprint or dislike it, it definitely changes the game! How people don’t see this is beyond me.

> You know why the statement “halo has had to change” has no merit? Halos height was never given the chance to even get stale, boring, bland to the crowd, as tryhard said, it never got the chance and bungie pulled a 180 out of no where and 343 continued it. The fact that halos been regressing game by game ever since these changes doesn’t not give any support to “halo had to change”, it actually shows they need to go backwards and fix what didn’t need changed to begin with. What support do you have that justifies halos change of direction? It’s literally gone nowhere but down in sales, retention, population, etc etc. your opinion on liking sprint is fine, it’s your reasons “why” that people are going to argue and the statement “halo had to change” when overall it’s been for the worse.

And so much this!!! (Above)

Before, either way, equipment definitely have a lesser effect on gameplay then AAs. It can be your opinion that you like the larger affect AAs have, but that’s something your definitely in the minority on.

Ah. I didn’t see your post then. I didn’t think they had been brought up on this thread for awhile. And I recognize that it’s my opinion and I’m in the minority. Again, I feel like AAs didn’t have as much of a negative effect. But like you said, it’s my opinion

Not to you, fair enough but most of the community hated them. They do get the brunt of the blame when In fact it was also the physics and dire maps and lack of ranked that also made reach suck. Anyway all of this thread is pointless they should make the game people want which is nothing like it is right now. No one like halo 5 it’s the worst game I have purchased full price in my life.

I want to keep the Sprint

Where does vehicles or power ups fit?.

Then play a different game

I’m in two worlds. I see the advantages and disadvantages of sprinting. While its helpful and cool, it kind of takes away from it being a Halo game. But if you remove it in 6 altogether then people will whinge. Sooooo, I’d do a playlist that removes it. Maybe, classic Halo?

The other way round, one mode with sprint called: halo no one likes but we put in because a couple of kids do sack.
