Good, we don’t miss you.
Saying sprint is the reason halo is ruined is such a cop out. If anything it helped change up a sluggish game.

Dude it’s a joke…It’s funny to think of a super soldier who can’t even run…
Sprint helps players get across the map alot quicker even though it gives the enemy an advantage to detect were you are ,
but it can help and compromise you and many ways finally it give it more of an realistic atmosphere with human muscles.

Yeah, changed it up into a bad game. That’s not a good thing.

Actually, I do miss the thousands of players who used to be on Halo.
Also, I’ve seen some bad arguments from both ends of the spectrum but this “Old Halo is bad Cuz it was slow” is easily the worst.
New Halo is bad because it’s fast. There. I’ve dismantled every sprint argument ever and anti-sprint is clearly victorious.
See how ridiculous that sounds?
This is ignoring the fact that Halo 1 and 2 were much faster paced than almost everything Halo 5 has to offer.
Go play CTF on Warlock and tell me how sluggish it is.
I love the spartan mechanics in Halo 5. I have been a loyal Halo fan since the original Xbox and Halo CE. It was the reason I bought an Xbox in the first place. Removing sprint is ridiculous in my opinion. What FPS game doesn’t have sprint? In terms of character movement, Halo was falling way behind prior to Halo 5. I just don’t understand the argument and I have heard all of the varied opinions. As a matter of fact, in Halo CE, 2 and 3, I can remember complaining with friends that sprint was not available. People should stop complaining and just appreciate the fact that the Halo franchise is alive and well. It could have just as easily died with Bungie’s exit.

Who’s we? You and the 20,000 people that play Halo 5 still? Sad. Halo changed for the worse and population count shows.

Sure, we could just keep it the same as halo CE/2, but most games tend to evolve with every new iteration(shock!). If people were seriously so fussed with how halo is though, they wouldnt buy it and would just populate the MCC servers. But that isnt the case, and while we do have vocal people complaining about such things, you really can’t say they represent the vast majority. As for the opinions of Vets or competitive players, why should their opinion of the game hold any more worth than the majority, or me or you? I laugh everytime I hear the word Vets, like it instantly holds more worth or something and the opinion given must be true or something.

The only reason that post got so many likes is because this new, small halo community has taken over the forums. Most of the people that used to care about halo (a few million) have abandoned this franchise because they got sick and tired of the changes Halo has made and turned into. Halo’s community hasn’t been the same since 3. Clearly these new gameplay mechanics aren’t working for the franchise.

What do you consider “alive and well”? Just the fact that it’s still around in any capacity?
Although an argument can be made for Overwatch, all are very niche games. Even in Overwatch, there are a multitude of characters that have varied speed mechanics. Which, in my opinion, doesn’t qualify because in Halo you play as a Spartan and only a Spartan. I know this argument has been used before and it is a bit redundant, but a Spartan is a “super soldier” and there was absolutely nothing “super” about a Spartan in previous Halo titles. Honestly, let’s be true to life…can a soldier not run, jump, clamber, etc…now wouldn’t you think a Spartan could also do these things…but better. At the current state of Spartan mechanics, everything seems a lot more realistic (tongue in cheek). The movement is exactly what you would imagine it to be. If this game were the first installment of the franchise, there would be no argument.

That and the OP sounding like he was ranting rather than making a real argument. I didn’t even like the original post.
I mean, take a look at this thread which has almost double the likes in only a two month period because he actually explained himself (and because the community was larger at the time).

That thread was awesome. “Can we please stop bumping this stupid thread” while listing the various issues that still plague this game and franchise to this day.
“you just don’t know anything about software development!”
definitely agree the original op on this thread could’ve been done so much better. It’s B.S. How there are still people even remotely thinking this game is even close to “perfect” or the “best one yet!”.

I know I just get annoyed because I know most of them lie and never played 3 back in the day.

I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitive halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!

Out of the veterans you are in a slim minority. I had like 50 odd people on my friends list quit at reach, it got to be nearly everyone has quit. You get people coming on for mcc customs now and again.

Well, it’s not Halo anymore. And no, it was not sluggish. It was very polished and unique, hence people were drawn to it. Saying that the real Halo mechanics and formula was sluggish is such a cop out.
