Why do you think that? It was unecessary, but I don’t know if it’s a killer.

I 100% agree with that… This thread has merely become a place where the few that are against sprint have taken to creative mediums to try to over inflate this issue and overreact about sprint by pinning everything bad about Halo on sprint.

…it’s been an issue since Reach…

Or we are legitimately concerned about the direction and lack of success of this new iteration of halo and want to see that the game returns to its former glory
you know…like fans of a franchise

Nope, not at all… Sprint enhances gameplay in Halo in so many ways. People need to have variety in their movement speeds in order to choose between walking and running for obvious reasons.

I’m happy to hear you prefer no sprint but the reason I say that is because every Halo game with Sprint as a default ability has been unsuccessful.

Oh that’s great- Now you’re trying to imply that people who like sprint aren’t fans of the franchise like you. That’s how your closing statement reads there, anyway. I guarantee you people that want sprint badly enough to stay here and patiently argue with people like you are indeed fans of the Halo franchise.

It should be clear it was included to appease a certain demographic, per josh holmes. Its effectiveness is up to debate, this is usually where we cite piss poor sales. Now I dont agree sprint is the end all be all of why halo now is a fraction of its past success, however a massive game-play change surely can seen as causation (in part).

Actually I wasn’t inferring anything about pro sprint people but twist my words all you’d like

Oh please, why else would you close with “you know…like fans of a franchise” if for no other purpose than to imply that pro sprinters aren’t fans in that sense.

Or maybe, just maybe I was referring to those who don’t like sprint trying to bring the game back to the roots they knew and loved and by doing so restore halo to its former successful glory
it’s not all about you I’m afraid

You can’t just say something and that makes it true, just saying
can you tell us how sprint enhances gameplay?
or will you just dodge around the question again
and please tell us what those “obvious” reasons are because the formula seemed to work really well in CE-3 especially considering the utter failures that H4 and H5 has been

I love how you call us the “few” as if you are not part of the “few”. I’ll bet anything, for every fan that has left Halo “for obvious reasons” most of them would say they want a sprintless Halo. That huge fanbase Halo once had has disappeared for this being one of the main reasons because of how differently Halo plays now.

How about you just try to accuse pro sprinters of not making any points to keep sprint in Halo again… Then try to go back and necro old arguments with the same counter arguments that have already been answered multiple times before in this thread.

So choosing movement speeds enhances gameplay?
how exactly

Well once a pro sprinter makes a valid point I will concede it (incidentally I’m still waiting)
and there’s really no need to necro old arguments when you are giving so much new ammunition

Fair enough and thank you

Perhaps, but do you not think a larger problem would be at play? Just because they weren’t successful with sprint doesn’t necessarily guarentee the games quality or finantial success depends on it, look at games like Destiny, CoD, and battlefield. They have sprint yet they have huge success in quality and or finantial gain. Halo doesn’t feel like Halo, or look like Halo which may be a huge reason for it’s lower success rate compared to past installments, one reason may be sprint but I don’t think it’s the primary reason for Halo’s lower success, just one out of MANY problems, but that’s just my opinion.
