> I don’t get it. If everyone were to sprint, then they would get an advantage in killing the enemy more easily. But if everyone didn’t sprint then the gameplay would be much slower plus you wouldn’t be able to evade quicker like say the Kraken level (Enemy Lines). Personally, I don’t even care if it is there because I sprint and don’t sprint at the same time. And what is with the Spartan abilities Thread. Why is everyone complaining about 343i’s methods. They aren’t Bungie but they’re themselves. Obviously they want to create a different Halo to show different story lines but can you just accept the fact that they want it different and evolve it to be a better Halo game. When there was no sprint, you couldn’t just skip past the enemies and find the secret. In Halo 4,5 and possibly 6, you can skip the enemies to find the secret hidden Skull or the Mission Intel.
Well obviously we want no sprint in the next game, not this game with its overstretched maps, a lot of us on this thread don’t play 5 anymore, if you had played 3 in its heyday you would understand that the awful spartan abilities have not made it better. It’s gone so far away from the formula it’s not halo anymore. Why are we complaining? Because we have our own opinion, and we have seen the population nosedive since reach messed it all up. We want a halo3 anniversary, well at least I do or I’m simply not going to buy 6 if it has sprint or stupid abilities.

We are in no way fellow fans, we like one sandbox you like another, we shouldn’t get mad I admit, buts it’s not our fault we don’t like new halo it’s absolutely nothing like the game we like, so why should we like it Coz it says halo on the box? We have a right to protest on here to get our game back, seeing as our community outnumbered this one like 15 to 1 we know going back would make the game big again. It’s actually embarrassing seeing what 343 have done to the games reputation.

There maps are also bigger lol and overwatch isn’t much faster many the characters are slow and there is no base movement speed because every character is different. The point you made was shut down and u still tries to argue lmfao csgo is act the biggest shooter and the irony is it isn’t even modern, no one likes modern shooters anyway! The player base for halo and cod is falling as games go by whilst csgo is growing, yes a game from 1999 is better than the awful thruster pack games they seem to think they can push on us. They are like a lame uncle, “hey sonny check this new game it’s got thruster packs and wall running” NO just no! Give me halo 3 and mw over trash like black ops 3 and halo 5 any day.

Which is why most “anti sprinters” want a faster BMS than ce/2/3.

No offense and thanks for the earlier like, but the movement speed of 2 and 3 works perfectly, as long as you can strafe fast, which you could it’s fine. Those games had such high skill gaps and messing with anything is a risk not worth taking, I’d like them to leave the story alone, make an online only halo with carbon copy h3 settings and just add constant new maps. They can sell cosmetics like csgo, I don’t care as long as A. The art style is simpler and visibility is high and b. What I said above CARBON COPY

H2 and 3 were too slow. HCE had a much higher pace. Thought the actual movement speed of HCE still felt slow.
People are right when they say the industry has advanced. People do want more speed. Which is natural as the collective user base becomes more and more skilled with dual skill controllers.
The goal of a faster paced halo is a good one, sprint just isn’t a good way to do it.

Each has to thier own, you think what you like, they were the perfect speed to me, why does speed mean things are better? Game flow was perfect in 2 and 3, they don’t even feel slow to me. The industry hasn’t advanced player base is shrinking and migrating to mobas and csgo. It’s all an illusion put in your mind by pr teams. There were faster pace games than Halo 3 at that time yet halo trounced them, being slower meant you had to think everytime you moved anywhere out of cover. You would be punished for every positional mistake which worked. The gameplay of those two games is better to me than any other fps i have played since, so why would I want to change it? Changing it is what killed it in the first place. At the end of the day they won’t listen they don’t care about people like me, they are happy with 5 million in sales and a player retention of less than 30k. That’s just the way things are, people get so caught up in wanted to change and evolve games when h3 was a huge sport. You wouldn’t go messing around with the rules of basketball, why change something everyone loved, no offense but your in a tiny minority it’s just most of the people like me have moved on we are older, we have jobs and families now, we don’t post on reddit or here. However the fact remains hundreds of thousands of us vanished when the reach beta came out, that was the deathird of it. I know a lot of ppl on xbl who didn’t buy that game on how bad the beta felt. Halo 2 and 3 are very different whilst retaining enough similarities that it was a smooth progression. You don’t see the coalition wrecking gears mp, they have respect for the fans that made it big. 343 had a chance with 4 to apologise for reach and make things right but they have gone the opposite direction.

It’s all opinion here. But, most hardcore halo players see HCE as the high point of MP, then h2, then 3. After that it went to -Yoink-. The reason h3 usually falls in at #3 is due to it being way too slow. MLG bumped it up to 110 speed and damage in am effort to speed it up, but even then it was still slow.

What does removing sprint have to do with getting good? Pro players even want that -Yoink- removed and they’re the best of the best. Don’t think I’ve seen one arguement of “remove it so I’ll be good at the game”.
2.dont need to be good to disagree with a mechanic to begin with.
You’re entirely wrong on thinking the anti-sprint are wasting their time and then saying the inevitable h6 will have it. Has change not happened before in halo good or bad from feedback? You bet your -Yoink-. What’s best is you like to go around with this “well my fellow fans” mentality but you then post this. As one dude said, not everyone cares about other fans, they want what they themselves want and could care less what you want. It happens when you alienate the majority of an old fan base and then treat the new fanbase like -Yoink- cause they’re not self aware.
Funny you say these guys push “illogical opinions as facts” when you’ve been part of it too lol. Do you excuse yourself from the “I always have to be right mentality”?cause many don’t see it that way. Half the time you say people’s thought make no sense, but when someone brings up a better one you say they’re valid, but then you say “this is better” every single time. Who wants to put up with that? People bring up FoV, you downplay it, people bring up BMS, you downplay it, vehicles/teleportation/man cannons, you down play it. At best you’re just as bad as these anti-sprint guys that annoy you oh so much on ignoring opinions and going in circles.
Heres an opinion that I’ve never said before: there won’t be a comprise between sprint/no sprint because there shouldn’t have been the issue to begin with. It then divides the work of the game even further which no one deserves cause 343 suck -Yoink- at making a legitimate game, notice the lack of sales game by game? It’s not even thousands or hundreds of thousands, it’s millions! Millions! And you say sprint was implemented “successfully”? Nothing in these games are successful until ground is made. You even had a guy show you an ex bungie viewpoint on sprint and again…you downplayed it as “it’s an opinion” when it’s a professional game designers opinion at that! So do I get to say to any professional who are the best at what they do really aren’t special cause they’re opinions are just opinions? It’s not like they don’t understand what they’re doing or nothing.
The issue is you, YOU turn it into this “shouting match” cause you get so sensitive when someone brings out a stronger opinion or they ACTUALLY do bring an objective fact to the table that achieves exactly what sprint dies but in a better way without sacrifices. If people really were trying to say your view is -Yoink- and means nothing do you think they’d waste so much time doing so? I wouldn’t, I would’ve stopped if all I was doing was saying you’re wrong. Instead these people are saying there are other ways to achieve what you want but you keep downplaying it EVERYTIME and then going back to one of your points on why yours is better. Do you know even one point that you’ve conceded or do all “27” points still stand?
think thats all ive got for now. If I come off as an -Yoink- I guess all I can say is oh well. If you respond cool, if you don’t, so be it. But it’s just stupid how you have the perception that people are here strictly to say you’re wrong when they argue with you countless times, even tho you yourself is also being difficult.

People have shown you arguments, in game examples, counter-arguments and facts, pretty much anything but “bias and heated opinions”. I mean sure the arguments are biased but they are still valid concerns and issues people have with the game.
By the way you guys are the vocal minority. I certainly never saw anyone claiming Halo needed to change until recently when the game has changed, funny how that works.
Pro sprinters like SiN SHOOT2KILL aren’t helped by random comments from pro sprinters like “we need sprint to go/feel fast”, “people expect sprint” and “modern shooters must have sprint to be succesful”, must be quite frustrating on his part, at least anti sprinters are pretty consistent.

And please, you couldn’t dismantle points from a child in an argument. All you anti sprinters have ever offered to this thread are illogical opinions that you try to push as fact… You’re so disillusioned that you think you can actually debate your way into making any difference at all in your useless efforts to try to get sprint removed… All because you think that would actually help make you good at Halo again (you won’t be either way).

As if you can almost make any sort of a difference in the next Halo game by getting into shouting matches with your fellow fans and perpetuating a toxic environment in the threads… Almost anyway but whatever helps you kids sleep at night. Hey- I’ll drink a cold one just for you guys when they inevitably announce that the next Halo game will feature sprint and larger maps.

I’m not a die-hard “anti-sprint enthusiast”, im a realist. I look at both sides of the argument and see which is logically the better option.

I didn’t lose; outside of losing some time which turned out to be wasted reading worthless posts like yours right here. Sprint will be in the next Halo, whether or not a vocal minority continues to cling to this thread just to blasts pro sprinters’ opinions with an illogical debating style.
So when the next Halo is H3A will you be ready to eat crow ?

You can’t win in an opinionated discussion like this. This thread is called, “The Sprint Discussion,” not the “Tryhard for Antisprint Diehards,” Thread. Winning or losing will be determined on whether or not sprint will be in Halo 6; which won’t be impacted by this debate- no matter how hard you want to be a tryhard in this thread and/or force your anti sprint opinions on people.
Keep sprint. its a great tactic for running away it would be so easy to get killed unless you could sprint and escape. Imagine tring to walk across warzone maps you would know how long it would take to get across maps. Also tring to run and assasanate someone would not be possibble i think sprint is a good thing the halo added

Totally agree regarding why it’s bad to be forced to walk across large maps without sprint (like back in Halo 3) and needing to be able to utilize sprint to run faster when the situation demands it. I’ve been arguing some of these points too, but anti sprinters think they can counter every single good reason (of the countless good reasons) to want to keep sprint in Halo.
