Im having a hard time understanding what you are trying to say here. Is English your first language? All I am saying is that there are plenty of games that use sprint now so implying that no sprint is a dated mechanic is factually incorrect. What does sprint have to do with looking in the past? Games released this year do not use sprint.

Or I could play the 2016 games that do not have sprint. Which is what most people do. This is why CS GO and Overwatch have hundreds of thousands of concurrent players while H5 has 10-20k.

The thing is I wouldn’t say sprint helps in h5 to run away anymore unless you’re right next to a corner. The elongated maps (caused by sprint) have so much openess to them that you’d more than likely die before hitting the corner, and to add on, why don’t you fire back while trying to run away? You can’t cause sprint costs you combat readiness. Do you ever wonder why our shields also don’t regenerate while sprinting by chance? It’s a panelty that was added to stop or at least limit run always because people did it all the time in reach and h4. Do you also know why you now see vehicles get destroyed more often and ruin part of the experience in btb and warzone games? Sprint has helped cause that. im no supporter nor a hater of sprint (at least in h5), but being neutral on it I still understand what it does good or bad. I personally refuse to see it as the cause of halos downfall or the low pop, I see it as more of a combination of things piled on top of one another but I’m sure it is something that a select group would be bothered by.

Unlike most people on this site I would compromise in spite of me liking sprint. IF, IF the speed was faster than H2 and H3 but slower than Doom, I would be cool with it. But i will say I can’t stand the slow sluggish movement of Overwatch and CS GO is one of the most boring shooters I have ever watched. yeah ,I know it has a huge following, But I also know that the PC Players are for the most part a very different demographic to console players. Console players move from game to game. With PC that may or may not happen.For example Team Fortress 2 is completely dead on 360. While its still incredibly popular on PC. Baffling to me, but it shows it two different demographics of players.

Remove sprint and adjust the maps for H6. The mission lengths won’t matter that much if they’re well done. Personally, I like long missions and CE is a good example of some good long missions that I enjoyed.

We need sprint and games need to evolve… I’m so happy that they removed the stupid armor abilities and load outs from Halo reach and went back more towards halo 3… sprint, Spartan charge, slow falling while aiming, ground pound are all little tweaks that made the game just like Halo 3 but brought something new to the table! Hats off to 343 for the multiplayer in Halo 5

Having respect for the past is great. But wanting to repeat the past over and over with nothing more than a fresh coat of paint isn’t respecting the past. I feel like H5 pays plenty of respect to the games that came before it.
