Do these people who parrot nonsense like “Halo would die if they removed sprint” and “its become standard in modern FPS” not realise CS:GO the most popular FPS in the world does not have sprint and has largely remained the same gane for years ? Not every game needs to conform to the COD model or “evolve” to be popular or stay that way, that isnt what made Halo the massive franchise its is today and it isnt what will assure its survival for years to come.

Im not the one who is disregarding others opinions. That’s what I was referring to his disregard and looking down upon others opinions. The fact that he inferred that there is no reasonable argument for sprint. There are reasonable arguments on both sides
Personally they should remove sprint, and keep the rest of the abilities i like.

I know, but let’s not just pull the old “yep, I’m ignoring you” card.
We need to find out what both sides are thinking, even the hatefull parts and try to fix everyones problems. I don’t agree with the hate, but there’s a reason people feel that way.
Now if he dosn’t listen to your side, then I can see why you would go against him like that.
Just an fyi, I haven’t read through this whole argument so I’m not completely sure what opinions are being stated. If you could fill me in that would be appreciated.

Cool
was this changed from “The removal of sprint will make Halo Halo again”? or something like that?

I pretty sure the new spartan abilities (save -Yoinking!- spartan charge) would be GENERALLY accepted in a halo game if they werent accompanied by sprint it would feel more competitive more strategic and would also still be recognizable to the fine tuned experience we got in halo 5. Warzone and customs would be a whole other beast entirely retaining ALL the features that made halo 5 successful would keep warzone great and would also allow more options for custom games, for those people that actually wanted to play in a sprint arena type setting they could actually fire up the in game custom game lobby adjust the filter and be good to go! lets face it, sprint has NO place in competitve halo and to argue that it does would just be absurd. this would allow arena maps to continue to be designed the PROPER way and please the vets and basically everyone whos willing to give it a chance and you wouldnt lose much of your sprint loving audience at all because there would still be sprint in the game it would just take a backseat!
> > Thoughts? :3
Remove sprint the game was better off without it same with armor abilites. All they did was tarnished the gameplay and 343 had to take so much time to try to balance them out. Well first off waste of time that could be spent doing other stuff and second off if it has to be adjusted so much to “work” then don’t even bother putting it in its not worth it just to be like cod. Why don’t we follow in CS:GO footsteps ( the most competitive FPS out) instead of cod the non competitive fps that people think is competitive.

Maps in non-sprint games were always sized appropriately for the amount of players the map was made for. There were no giant strictly 4v4 maps.
It doesn’t actually allow for more strategy, as it restricts you.
It also doesn’t increase the frequency of engagements because of the maps being bigger. More on all of that and why that matters is explained here.

Sprint
- Immersion
- Likes variability of two speeds
- People expect to sprint in FPS nowadays
- Halo will become unpopular if it doesn’t have sprint
- I like Sprint?
No Sprint
1.Bad Map Design
2.Creates barrier between movement and combat
3.Slows down engagement rates
4. Makes it more chaotic
5. Homogenizes gameplay with other shooters
6. Sorta similar to 4 but breaks golden triangle
I might have missed a few for both sides but thats the gist of it. I tried ranking each of the reasons on both sides in order of what I thought was important

Just because it’s not there that doesn’t mean it’s been weeks since people posted, it just mean other topics were posted in more recently. You’re probably thinking of the previous sprint thread which did have times where it went long stretches without being posted in.

Being out of the most popular list also doesn’t mean it went weeks without a post. I think you’re definitely thinking of the previous thread, that didn’t happen with this one. Either that or you just don’t understand how the system works.
I mean, if it happened as much as you said, then it should be easy to find times in this thread where there were no posts for multiple days or over a week. Just show me.

The main thing that I haven’t appreciated has been the exaggerating going on and over inflation of the issue by anti-sprinters- perpetually keeping this thread going has just been a part of the problem IMO.
>
> You told me twice that “middle grounds satisfy no one,” indicating you’ll never compromise so why would you even try to debate with anyone here about sprint in the first place?
>
> You tried to use your “OG Moniker status,” or whatever you call your experience on older Halos to completely discount somebody who said they liked sprint… Then just a few posts later you come back to get on me for citing my experience in the game to describe the effect that I personally have seen sprint have- you tried to use it both to mock me for playing that much (when you’re not that far behind me) and to throw it in my face that I shouldn’t cite my experience in the game in this debate right after you did so in an overtly rude fashion.
>
> Furthermore you can even go back to the very creation of this thread where I urged people NOT to partake in this thread because the title was completely bias (and wrong IMO but thankfully at least the monitors have surprised me by recently fixing the title to make it neutral)… I reminded people that this issue had been beaten to death many times in the past and the same old arguments were coming back up… Arguments that lead to a toxic environment which has once again been broached at multiple points during this threads lifespan. I’ve also not responded for weeks at a time and just hung back and seen anti-sprinters refuse to let this thread go quietly into the night again and again.
>
> So no, I haven’t perpetuated this thread in the manner that anti-sprinters have done. To add to that, I did just concede that there has been SOME good back and forth discussion going on in here which was honestly more than I expected, to say the least.
>
> The worst thing I think I’ve seen from you, from zr0fear, from jinxed, and other anti-sprinters that I will call you out on is when you’ve told me and other pro sprinters that our opinions are “worthless,” “useless,” “wrong,” “don’t matter,” etc etc. That’s nonsense and I won’t sit back and let you tell anyone that without stepping in to check you.
I’ve never once said someones opinions were worthless, useless, wrong, or didn’t matter. What I did do was call YOU on not responding to points I made against sprint and brushed past it by bringing up something else in an effort to say that I have no place in the debate because I used the same moniker you placed on yourself before I even joined the debate. I could care less if anyone in this thread says “You’ve changed my opinion”, I’d rather players admit what sprint does to the game which seemingly is above any response I’ve seen you post. Every time someone posts about how sprint is bad for Halo, you respond with “It’s opinion” “Let the thread die” “You are a perpetrator in keeping this thread alive”. All three of these, and variations of these are ways of deflecting argument when you have no real way to back up anything you say, plus you want to paint Anti-sprinters in a bad light. How about the hundreds of posts saying to “adapt”, “get good”, “learn to hit shots” and more from Pro-sprinters that I have not once brought up, and yet you can seem to get over it when someone responds with that negativity in kind. You can try to “check” me as often as you want, because until you post about how sprint helps Halo gameplay you will always be the poster than ran away, dare I say sprinted away. Next time you want to check people who are anti-sprint, makes posts to support why you like sprint that have well thought out reasoning behind the mechanic of sprint, not in the manner you do currently where you act high and mighty because you claim how much you want the thread to die but keep posting in it. You play this game enough to know that people are PASSIONATE about Halo, and you among others are attempting to stifle that passion by saying we’re debating a topic that is irrelevant.
Let’s remember something, whethere you want sprint or not. Be respectful to each other and respect each other’s opinion, you might be mad at someone’s response, but respond with your honest opinion and present evidence why. Leave the conversation on a decently common ground because the more we fight with each other the harder it is to send our message to 343, becuase they look at the forums and if the community can tell them together what we want. That’s how this is goning to work

That is the one place where sprint makes the most sense and is the most useful for EVERYONE involved. If I had a dime for every time I wished I had sprint on the Ark, the Covenant, Halo, the Library, and ESPECIALLY Mombasa streets, (I think you get the point) I’d be a rich man.

Just because it’s not there that doesn’t mean it’s been weeks since people posted, it just mean other topics were posted in more recently. You’re probably thinking of the previous sprint thread which did have times where it went long stretches without being posted in.

Did I say that it went days without a post? Or weeks? Nope. Does a thread have to be u posted on for a long time to be pretty much dead? Not necessarily. I know what thread im talking about. I know what thread this is. What im saying is that with how consistently it was out of the 1st page of halo 5 most recent posts, and how long I was completely out of the most popular threads, it woukdve died completely if it were any other thread.
Its not that no one was posting. It’s that not many, which is why it was consistently for a couple weeks out of the most recent post on halo 5. Consistently, not constantly, there’s a difference in wording.

Cs:go is completely different to halo in every aspect. It would be like comparing Assassin’s creed to Elder Scrolls. Sure, they’re both Rpg’s, but that’s like it and the fact how you get to kill people and collect stuff. Now as far as I know, Cs:go is WAY more tactical as (I think) it’s one life. Also, you wouldn’t expect a swat force to go sprinting around now, would you? But you would expect that in a war simulation where there’s tonnes of places to show off their abilities and out flank their opponents.
So to everyone, stop bringing up the fact that Cs:go has no sprint. Halo and Cs:go have next to nothing in common at all apart from how they’re both fps’

Ah, I see now. I guess that means this is an important issue if it can withstand the test of time.
