Maybe make it like Halo Reach or 4, where sprint is availible but only as an alternative to superior abilities. I’m not saying I liked the abilities in Halo Reach or 4, But I think they did a good job at making sprint not a readily availible thing though. To be completely honest however, I enjoy the sprint mechanic in Halo 5 and don’t see why so many others don’t.

Yeah I’m agreeing with you, it might make halo halo again but I like sprinting

i like sprint and dont they do this with every halo game halo reach comes out their not satisfied halo 4 comes out they hate it then halo 5 comes out they hate it i think people just like hating
I’m still waiting for someone to explain what positive things sprint adds to Halo and why we need it?
It pretty much forces all the maps to be either poor or average, certainly none of the maps of the sprint era have been even close to the older maps and make no mistake, this is because of sprint.
As I’ve previously asked, why were the first 3 Halo games vastly better and more popular and yet didn’t need sprint? No-one in their right mind would have added sprint in to Halo CE/2/3. And since it’s appeared in Halo, aside from making all the maps terrible, I just can’t see what people think it has actually done.
Someone, anyone, please, respond…

No, Halo 5 is vastly better than Halo 4 and that’s universally agreed. However, it’s no coincidence that Halo has become less popular since every game included sprint. It’s simply not Halo, it stretches the maps which is why they are all so average, and if Halo wants to get back to it’s former glory, especially in the competitive scene (Which 343/MS are massively pushing as a marketing strategy) then sprint needs to go for Halo 6.

Do you though? Or are you just used to it? What does sprint actually bring to Halo? Why did the first 3 Halo’s play so great without it?

> I think I would rather keep it to. It give you more option during movement. And it might just be impossible to unlearn using this
That doesn’t make it good. Jetpack gave you more movement options too but it was terrible for the game. What about it you could teleport 100m across a map once a minute? That would be another movement option but it wouldn’t be good.
It would be easy to un-learn it. We’re all used to it now but it wouldn’t take long to adjust to what ultimately would be a better game.
Sprint is now a basic component combined with vault. It allows for faster movement, obviously.
If Halo had in theory “a gotten less popular with every game with sprint” (which is a silly assumption), the more likely causes are:
the horrible phasing-out of co-op (which automatically makes Halo 5 worse than any other halo despite all of its strengths, the cost of playing online in comparison to the freedom of PC online (Steam), and misuse of characters and ideas with potential (the two teams were never really going to fight each other).
I dont see how sprint is ruining the maps it does not change the map in anyway
And don’t ask people
“But do you REALLLYYYY like it? Or do you REALLLLLYYY agree with me?”
If someone says they like something, they do. They do not secretly agree with you about everything.
It’s all fine to believe you’re right, but it’s wrong to think that everyone else, deep down, KNOWS that you are right.

Its not like no sprint made the first 3 halos be so good its the canpaign and multiplayer to me the only thing wrong with halo 5 is the campaign

Not really a silly assumption. Sales and population have taken quite the dive since sprint was introduced. Ultimately, it’s no more silly than thinking it’s the result of something else, since we have little information regarding why so many people left. Though there is evidence that the wider audience may not be happy with sprint, since this issue has come up in a non-Halo forum.

I understand that these polls aren’t representative of Halo players as a whole as generally people but these communities are the primary way 343 receives feedback so shouldn’t 343take into account the general sentiment of these communities towards sprint? I mean they don’t really have another way to ask people who play Halo about their view on specific gameplay mechanics unless they have an open in game poll

Didn’t answer the questions.
Not having sprint definitely made the first 3 Halo’s very good, Halo would have never seen such success if it started out with sprint - it plays like a different game.

And by not entirely true, he of course means totally and utterly untrue. Sprint has a massive effect on the maps and you can trust me when I say we will never see a Halo map as good as any of the classics - pit, guardian, whichever one you want to pick, while sprint is still around.
