So imma say my piece. Halo is Halo. The game evolves combat and is meant to be experimental to an extent. The devs listen to us and try their best to appease us, but there will always be something that people -Yoink- and moan about because games cant be perfect. Want an example? Remember Halo 4? You could use custom load-outs and call in bonus weapons and boosts that changed the game. We OUTRAGED. And they responded by removing it from the next game. They also decided to experiment with the abilities and give us more movement options in Halo 5. So some of them don’t work well. When Halo 6 is released then we probably wont see them. Sure there are mistakes but 343 and Bungie both worked to correct what they could. Halo 5 is what it is, an experiment. Just like CE, just like 2, and just like 3.

There is no valid argument. There is only personal bias and preference. There is no proof of points because this is a subjective argument.
We like sprint and feel it enhances Halo. You don’t like sprint and feel it takes away from Halo.

Points can be made to justify sprint just as much as there are points to justify removing sprint. They didn’t contribute to the topic, they just made one line comments, that’s all i was trying to say. I’m not trying to come up with an answer we can all agree with i’m trying to understand why they like sprint. after i made this reply one of them elaborated in response to what I said.

You can just play Halo 5 since that appears to be what you want. I don’t actually mean that of course, I just wanted to prove a point.
Telling others to not play only hurts this already horrifically fractured community. We need to become more inclusive, not exclusive. And, in doing so, we’re all going to have to find some middle ground and give up on things we might actually prefer in order for there to be a Halo game most of us can enjoy.
I don’t think having sprint changes halo into something completely different. I like the idea that if people want the sprint aspect, they can change that in the settings, that way if they feel that it does change halo, they won’t have it, but if people prefer sprint they can turn it on.

Eh, I’d personally disagree. CE was experimental, sure. But 2 and 3 were a refined version of CE’s foundation. Every major title since then has either been an experiment (Reach) or a blatant copy/pasta of popular trends and conventions with a Halo skin (4 and 5). Granted, Halo 5 handled it much better than 4 did, but you can still see the inspiration for these mechanics and which crowd they’re meant to appeal to.
I would love to see a new Halo game come out without sprint. Not because I hate it, but because I want to see what the sprint-haters will complain about without it, once they realize sprint is not the issue they have with the game.

I wholeheartedly agree. Adding sprint did not automatically make Halo not Halo. Between the 9 years of Halo 3 and Halo 5: Guardians, a lot more has changed than just sprint. We have a completely different studio working on the game for one. The art direction has taken a massive shift. And the music, while sounding very Halo at times, still seems lacking. Among other things like all of the other mobility options on top of sprint, the narrative, the entire tone and presentation of the franchise has morphed into something else entirely. It’s quite hard for me to put my finger on, but something(s) is/are severely missing from modern Halo.
Seeing the Halo Wars 2 E3 trailer and the more classic designs for armor, weapons, etc. I immediately knew what I was watching. A surge of grand memories flowed back to my mind and I knew I was watching a trailer set within the Halo universe. The darker and grittier tone helped to bring that out as well. As Marines and Spartans fought against an alien collective who looked fierce, sophisticated, and technologically superior. To me, that’s Halo. At least in tone and presentation.

Lol if an H3A ever comes out (highly doubt it). I will definitely leave H5, won’t even be a contest. but if it doesn’t work like the MCC ill be right back here to complain some more man.
halo 6 cant wait

343 would probably replace projectile with hitscan since the aiming in H3 was pretty bad and we’ll get some sweet blur cinematics and it will be playable on pc.

blur cinematics :), PC getting H3A
the of the possibility of more forgers. but the replacement of projectile wouldn’t be true to the game. not that I disagree with you but it would be criminal to change something so core to H3.

I can not agree with you more, halo 2’s delta halo was also terrible if you didn’t bother to wait 5 minutes for the hog
It needs to go. The maps are too big and giving unskilled players the ability to run into or away from battles is just silly.
Reward good decisions.
Sprint gives us the ability to get to places faster now and that’s it. You can’t run with out a sheild recharge, and I don’t se really gamebreaking.
H3A is not going to happen.
3 Reasons:
The H3 net code is broken and would have to be fixed or H3A should have to be a complete remake, not a remastered edition like HCEA & H2A
The H3A Remaster or Remake would be too much time and effort, Not to mention the Xbox One probably can’t run a 360 game while having another whole engine running on top of it like HCEA & H2A do.
The MCC will likely be the last Halo Anniversary type game for a long while, most likely the generation after Xbox One (not Project Scorpio that’s still an Xbox One) won’t have Halo any way.
sprint is just this era’s scapgoat
I personally like the mobility in the Sprint/Clamber/Thruster combination, in Halo 5 specifically.
If sprint were removed:
- Climbing/clambering would appear slow and cumbersome, because your velocity would be reduced significantly when approaching. - It’s still ineffective for travel in comparison to any vehicle, just a happy medium between walking/smart-link and full-on vehicular movement. - The thruster would lose it’s smooth appeal and seem jarring (especially when thruster punches are removed, since sprinting activates them). - Sprint works in Halo 5 because it’s built from the ground up to work with it. Halo 4’s was tacked on.As a side note, I didn’t like sprint in Halo 4 because it just felt tacked on after the Armor Ability in Reach. The armor ability was fine because of it’s strict limitations, and didn’t feel like the sprint we had in Halo 4.
I don’t mind sprint, campaign or arena its fine, what I do hate is Spartan charge, most -Yoink- addition to the game imo

“Scapegoat” implies that sprint was the only problem that recent Halo games have. I don’t think anybody is claiming this. There are myriads of issues: Bullet magnetism, story, user interface, Laaaaaaaaaaaaaag, etc. It just happens that sprint is one of the biggest and longest-persisting problems, so it’s natural to come up the most.
